Is anyone familiar with the Harly Wax that I am currently using in the UK at the moment, and if so what is your opinion of it and how does it compare with other products that you are currently using in the USA?

Many thanks

Peter

It's been many years for me but I think I might have to find it and give it a whirl. It did leave a beautiful finish and was a little dusty for me but that was waaayy pre Autopia days as I'd apply it much thinner now.;) I don't really recall how long it did last but I don't remember it being very long at all. I bought my last tub about 12-15 years ago so there is at least a small chance that the formulation has changed.

Well, I just acquired some of this wax recently (plastic tub, not the metal can now shown). Here's my impressions on it after only 1 use (so it's obviously not going to be very indepth. :p )

Pale yellow in color. Smells of solvents. Mine has some "bubbles" on top (from manufacture, I imagine), and it's cracked (from age, I suppose). Nothing major, and is typical of many pastes, but I thought I'd mention it as the web site mentioned that this doesn't happen with Harly Wax.

SAVVY!! is the word of the day on the site! Savvy Baby! :woot2:

Slickness-Very!! One of the slickest carnaubas I've used. (Doesn't stay slick right to the end, of course, but initial slickness is very nice!)

Nice gloss. Fairly wet looking, nice reflections. Well balanced, I'd say. Not too much of any one thing, but a noticeable amount of each.

Fills marring a bit

Spreads well -> Smooth! Little goes a long way.

Removes well on a cool shaded surface. Warm and it's not so good. Got some "shadows." (hood, after engine was running for a little bit. Not hot, though.)

A bit of dusting where applied a bit thick.

Pure wax-no cleaners.

Oddly, the lid says "14oz" but the side label says "8oz!"

Beading -> NICE!!! Small beads, very round and "high." The beads seem to "dance" when driving in the rain! Reminded me of watching liquid mercury move around! Beading stayed small for a couple weeks, then started to become more "blobbish," but still beaded fairly well.

Beads lasted a month easily. Car still looked good too! (I got the urge to do some more experimentation, so I ended this test at about the 5 week mark. :D )

Overall I think it's a pretty nice wax!
