Hey all! 3 other guys and me (leather repair guy, window tint and audio installer- and me as detailing. all of us are pro/very good in what we do want to open a shop for 4 of us, its like an auto salon you know. We want to open in about 3-4 months. also cheap advertisements for all of us on the newspaper because all of us will put money into it and we are working for our self so we have no boss. its like a separate businesses inside one location. what you think? good idea or bad? am not scared to risk because there is no contracts, if we like it we stay if not everybody go their own way. also i got college on Wednesday for all day and Mondays until 12 pm day time. but i want to get an employee so he can work on hours i cant (which will be Wednesdays and couple hours Monday. (volume work for employee and me and some paint corrections which i will be doing myself) i will work hard as long as needed and as much hours a day as needed.

It could work and it could work very well. I refer lots of my clients to other people in the car customization (tint, tires, wheels, audio) or repair industry (mechanical and body/paint) on a very regular basis. It would be a lot easier if these people were under the same roof and they could capture the client before they left the building. There would be a lot more fallow-though, versus people going home and 'thinking about it'. If you could come up with a system of referral fees with the 3 other guys, that would make you even more money. Instead of referral fees, I use two-way street referral. I send someone a client. They send me one back. I don't know if this system would work under the same roof. You would all need to be motivated to up-sell each others services. "How about getting your windows tinted before we detail your car?". I wouldn't think about doing it, unless you had an express written contract between everyone. No VERBAL contracts. What if someone leaves and stops paying rent or utilities or pays them late every month? How about if they start stealing your stuff or the entire place burns down? They start selling drugs out of the shop and the DEA seizes the entire shop (actually happened to a competitor). How about if someone is a hack or hires a hack? That ruins your reputation also. You have got to be very careful.

That's great. I have had also run a shop targeting people who needs kitchen appliances as it is a necessary and promising path for gaining profit as of my belief. Initially I started with kitchen products like cookers, mixer including kitchen towels, dinnerware and gradually I plunged into it to extend with the profit I gained. And that was how I had my income. Still am running it and It is good to be a boss of own business!
