Hard water (well) WATER SPOTS

I have well water and when I wash the cars, if I don't dry them immediately, they spot like a MO FO. If the sun is out (just a little), they seem to spot before I even get a chance to dry them. What I am looking for is either an attachment I can put on the end of the hose for a final rinse or a filter system on the spigot from the well. Oh yea, did I mention I prefer to TRY and keep the cost down. I remember seeing a few out there awhile back, but I forgot the names of the products. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
 
Well water sucks. I once washed my car at my grandparents who live "out in the country" and they have a well. I gave up half way through drying my car.
 
It definitely sucks if there was no system put in place to soften the water to begin with. I lived in a house with well water for 10 years and had no problems since it had a water softner system. I actually miss the well water now that I live in the county and the water stinks (literally stinks on occassions)!



I also think you would be a good candiate for ONR. I usually only use ONR in the winter, but it would be fine year around and you could dry the car quick enough before any spots were left behind. It would be a cheap alternative. A quart of ONR and a 2 dollar grout sponge and you are set!
 
Thanks for the responses. The Groits filter is an option. I'll have to figure something out. I am sick and tired of the water spots.
 
My inlaws have a water softener system with their well water, and the water is so salty it leaves a salt film all over the car. I've thought about getting a hose end filter for them.
 
You could get a regular garden sprayer and fill it with a couple gallons of distilled water (80 cents a gallon) and rinse your car after you are done. My car takes about 2 gallons of water, and then I let it air dry, and no spots.

For less than the cost of that griot's one you can get a dual setup with a sediment filter and water softener cartridge. The water softener cartridges can be recharged and refilled.



Mike has a good idea too. For the final rinse you could use distilled water. Just find a local water store and set up an account. You can fill up some five gallon bottles to keep around the garage.
