About 2 days before I bought my newest toy, I noticed it was gettting sprayed by the sprinkler system. :down Anyway..bought it a few days later and got it home that night. Next morning woke up and washed it. Spots didn't budge. Didn't have time to do anything else until today. Hit them with some 50:50 vinegar water. Nary made a dent. Will I have to polish them out? Somebody told me AIO would take care of them. It's Ford paint FYi, if that matters.

Greetings,

Where abouts in GA are you?

I am currently working a car with a ton of nasty water spots on all the horizontal panels. I would say I have reduced them by about 95%. I had to use SSR2.5 on an Orange propel pad on the PC set at six.

Best of luck.

I'm down around Macon.

Tomorrow I am going to rehit the spots with a slightly stronger vinegar?water mix, then wash it and hit it with some Poorboys polish. Maybe I will have some luck. I'll post before and after pics.

Optimum is coming out with a water spot remover-just wipe on wipe off-I think they are still working on the formula so it will work on windows too-may want to give them a call.

i used some 2.5 w/ an orange pad, followed by the 1 w/ a white pad and it knocked them down on my atlantic blue 2000 GT, but they are still there. that pic that was posted, man what a difference quality products make!!!

i would say through my experience that vinegar does a good job if they arent etched at getting the white off, but it will do nothing on etching, and polishing is the only cure.

Never abrade water spots away the first time but always try and dissolve them. Valugard has a system out called ABC and it works but it is time consuming.

As noted Optimum has a new "beta" product coming out that works very well also and if you PM I might be able to get you a few ounces for you to try out.

I was called by Porsche the other day to remove some really nasty spots on a silver Boxster, the worst I have ever seen, and the first beta sample of the Optimum spot remover didn't do much for them and I didn't have the new beta sample yet so I had to use some 6000 grit paper to remove them them polish out the paint. Lucky for me it was only in the door jams and water run off areas.

The new beta spot remover is pretty potent so it may work on yours.

Today I had a little time before work. Wahsed, then hit the spotted side with 75:25 vinegar/water, rewashed. That helped slightly. I then used a foam applicator and tried some PB polish. Got about 85-90% of the spots off. I have to polish the paint this weekend anyway to remove some swirls, so hopefully I can take care of these while I am at it. :waxing:

On water spots I use it full strength. I spray it onto a mf towel then begin to rub the area with the spots. It maytake one or more applications but with the new formula I have yet come across spots it hasn't been able to remove.

I'll then go over the area with some cleaner, like AIO, FPII, OCP or VM.
