What do you folks use to get to those hard to reach areas on large vehicles and trucks? I own a F-150, and it have trouble with the windshield and parts on the hood. My little arms just cant reach! lol

Any suggestions?

I got a gorilla ladder from home depot (thanks for the recommendation awd330!) and it works great for me.
You're welcome nthngd2say!

I think we lost the original thread about the Gorilla Ladder Work Platform. Here is a repost of my photo comparing the platform with a standard step ladder.

That's the gorilla ladder I have and I also have a step ladder(kmart) like awd330's. The gorilla platform is much more stable for me and I don't have to worry about tipping it against my truck. I also don't have to move it around quite as much as the step ladder. It's easier to position also.

Thanks AWD330, thats exactly what I am looking for! Which do you use the most, the platform or the ladder?
You're welcome too fireman03!

I use them both equally. When I'm detailing the entire roof, I use the platform for better reach and stability. It's a big time and energy saver for me since I don't have to keep stopping and climbing down to move the ladder a couple feet. However, if I'm just doing some localized work (like polishing a windshield), I prefer the regular ladder. It's lighter in weight and has a big handle bar to lean against.

I dont see that ladder on home depots website. I see several other, but none with the large standing area and lean in bar. Any suggestions or do you happen to know the model # offhand?

The step ladder in the picture is a Werner brand. I think I bought it at Sears many years ago.

AWD, did you say that Gorilla was around $30 or so in the last thread? I'm short, so I need all the help I can get when it comes to SUV's.

I stopped at my local Home Depot this evening. The Gorilla Platform is $34.95. It's located with the other step ladders, closest to the ones that are "articulated" (can be bent into different shapes).

Nick - I'm vertically challenged too, so a good ladder is very important to me.

fireman03 - They did not have anything like my step ladder. The most similar model had 3 steps instead of 2 and weighed quite a bit more than mine. Here is the model information for my ladder -

Werner Saf-T-Master, Type III Household, Model 264
Ladder size 2 ft, Siderail length 4.5 ft, highest standing level, 1 ft 10in
P/N 54311-01

Hope this helps.
