The point is he told the customer he could do the same job for less. He did a bait and switch.
Not sure I would agree about getting a "$250 detail". But regardless, the customer wanted a ~$600(?) detail and the guy said he could do it for $250. I'm sure when the customer bought the GTR he would have been happy to hear they would sell it to him for the price of a Maxima, but I doubt he would have accepted the Maxima when he was told he was buying a GTR.
Once again, though, customers who want quality need to realize that it comes at a price. Don't shop at a Kia dealership when you want a Mercedes.
