I need help determining what type of scratch I have. I can't feel it with my fingernail, yet it has a white appearance to it. Is this only in the clear-coat and the white is how it reflects the light, or is it through the color into the primer? Does dirt get trapped in there? AIO made it fade somewhat. Thanks for any help. Also, I remember a link to a site that helped identify paint conditions, but I can't seem to find it.
 
That will give you an idea of how deep it is.

You will need to click unto the Tech Tips Section and go through it.

The areas are set up in boxes with descriptions, you click on them and it will bring up the photos, conditions, etc.

This saves load time and allows more information to be places.

If it was through the clear I think you'd feel it. Light scratches on the clear coat often look white when they're fresh. AIO isn't abrasive enough to remove scratches like that. I can highly recommend Meguiar's Scratch-X from personal experience - it polishes scratches out while remaining pretty safe; has enough fillers and polishes to leave a very nice surface - you can wax right over it. Thanks for the help guys. Should I progress from the least abrasive to more abrasive polishes to remove this scratch, which is always suggested? Or would I be wasting my time and I should head directly to something like the Scratch-X mentioned? I suspect that the AIO just cleaned any grit outta the scratch area better than the wash soap.
 
You can do what I do. Buy some 3M SMR and 3M Finesse It 2 and keep the receipt. First try the SMR, if it does a pretty good job or great job, then you can return the FI 2 if you like. If its not strong enough, then you can return it. No one will notice or even care if you use a few drops of either product and then return it. Laters
