My GF gave me part of my present today! CLEAR CORNERS AND SIDES FOR THE BIMMER. I can't wait to put them on!

I am admittingly jealous!! I test drove my brother-in-laws brand new 325xi last night for the first time. Knowing him he will definitely want to "make some alterations". Do you know of any good BMW parts sources. By the way the car handled like it was on rails.
 
They beat every other dealer in parts by a long shot all over the country. You are lucky that they are in NJ, so if you wanted to you could pick up the parts if you wanted and avoid shipping charges, but you could also mail order the parts, and they have a full accessory catalogue on line for the E46. She also got me the titanium headlight trim......very cool!
 
Detailking post make sure you post some pic's with those new taillights. that 325 should look pretty nice!!!!!!!!
 
I also had some excellent experiences at Circle Infiniti in Long Branch. He bought his 325 at Princton BMW. We were wondering what type of numbers does the 325 put up on the track? I thought that the car accellerated well, and it handled incredibly! The 330 must be an animal !!!
 
the 325i gets to 60 around 6.9-7.0 seconds, and finishes the quarter mile in about 15 flat.....just ahead of the IS300......hehe. It's not the fastest car on the road, but not slow either. Once you get going, there seems to be plenty of power for passing. The 325i lacks the low end torque that the 330i has. If you know how to drive it and keep the revs up, its one quick sucker. The engine is smooth and begs to be reved, and the power builds and builds till redline.....but doesn't seem to come on till around 3K on the tach, when the engine changes sound as the VANOS is engaged. With the Sport package, handling is amazing....definately a good auto X'er. AT high speeds (100-120 MPH), this car is a lot more stable than my old front heavy Z-28.
 
What "alteration" would you recommend. I already bought for care....

No Z-5? How about a bit of 303 for the interior? A good 100% cotton mitt would be great for preventing swirls so you don't have to take them out for him later on!



Sounds like you have him pretty well taken care of, maybe a quick lesson or 2 in car washing / maintenance of a detailed car would be a great gift as well, but you're giving him a pretty good assortment as it is! Careful, you'll get him hooked too and the sister will blame it on you!
 
you can't get clear corners on the 2002s. The headlight is now one piece instead of DK's two piece previous design.
 
Actually you can, you just have to replace the whole headlight. Same here with my e39. I might as well upgrade to clear Angel Eyes with Xenon.

DK, your GF understands you, man! My wife would just as soon not give me a present at all before she bought me anything as cool as what you got.



As for the IS300, I used to have one but I seriously couldn't stand that car (hope I'm not offending anyone) so I traded it in after just a few thousand miles. It doesn't corner anywhere near the 3-series, nor does it have nearly as good a road feel. It's amazing that your car can beat it though, even with the hp difference. I love the 3-series. My wife has the sport & premium (or is it luxury) package w/ premium sound (10 speakers plus 2 subwoofers). No cold weather though. We're in LA.
