Hand wax application ?

I went to a company that sells professional detail products and asked some questions regarding hand application. This company manufactures the products on site and I talked to the chemist. I appreciated this fellow chatting with me concerning their products and application.



I told him I am only interested in detailing my car and he said that using a small amount of liquid wax rubbed in using "up & down" strokes until the haze waz completely or almost gone would result in better protection and shine. I could then use a detail spray with a micro fiber cloth to finish off the job. He also said to do a few square feet at a time.



I always thought you used a circular motion and waited until the wax hazed then wiped off.



Any thoughts or should I get a PC 7424? I only intend on waxing once in a while and my Z4 is garage kept.

If you are applying a protective wax,or sealant,that is functionaly non abrasive,and your applicator is non abrasive,then it will make no difference how you apply the product,either up or down,or in circular motions is fine.



With most LSP(last step products),you should apply and let dry to a haze,so that you are actually leaving something behind,i don't agree with rubbing a wax in untill it is almost gone,because you are effectively applying and removing the product,before it has time to set up,and so will leave little behind.The exception to this rule,would be the products that are designed to be used with the WOWO(wipe on wipe off ) method,because they either have a short dry time,or are 'set' by the friction of buffing.
