Hand Application VS PC

I have a black car that I have Zaino Z5'd a bunch of times.

I have some scratches that I can see in my lights in my garage and outside in the direct reflection of the sun.

I bought some 3M FCRC and a Viking Foam applicator, with the idea of going at the scratches by hand.

Am I being stupid? Should I just wait and get a PC, or can hand application be effective?

If I do work on the scratches, what do I have to do before applying more Z5? Does the area hav to be dawn washed again??

Everyone should attempt to remove swirls by hand at least once. Thats how you learn to appreciate a PC. There are other options. One would be to have a pro take out the swirls and you take it from there.
