Halloween Costumes - What are you being?

...and you can't say a detailer :)

What are everyone's plans for this Halloween and what are you planning on being?

Liz and I are heading out to a party held by my fraternity. We contemplated many different ideas, but ultimatley came up with being the Spartan Cheerleaders from Saturday Night Live. If you haven't seen them, they are extremely cheesy cheerleaders that do some hilarious stuff (played by Will Farell and ???). We figure it will fit the night and mood :)

My name is Frank. I did drugs once. I am a Spartan, so check me out!
That looks like a cool costume for couples.

I honestly don't know what I'm going to be. Any suggestions? ;)

I just took my little sister to her school's halloween parade. This year she was Martha Stewart in prison. She had on a orange jumpsuit and we had ironed on the prison she was in and her name on it with a blonde wig. We also made a Martha-like book with topics such as "remodeling your jail cell", and "gardening with the guards" along with a boutique of flowers. I must say it was a really cool costume, and the best part of it is, her school is in the town over which is where Martha Stewart grew up, Nutley, NJ.

we also just came back from a school parade...my twins were a bride and an angel ...you could see that many of the kids parents shopped at the same store:lmfao...
the best one...for those who live in the northeast..was a kid dressed up as the old man that drives the great adventure bus commercials:rofl

Today was Halloween day at school and I must say, kids my age will go all out when they get the chance. I saw a full Elmo suit and head (not a mask, a genuine head cover), a giant turkey in a pilgrim's outfit, 3 matching beavers, a gorilla, a gingerbread man, and some more that I can't remember. As for me, I wore my Martin Truex Jr. shirt, blue jeans, and my Clarks (normal dress). I did manage to get a serious "Are you a redneck?". I proceeded to smack him in the face and yell some mild profanity at him. :)

I'm just going to be myself - an obsessed detailer - and run around with an M/F wiping everywhere that the little darlings touch, etc. - that should be scary enough!!!;)

I just love the "home-made" costumes that show some creativity!! :bigups for your little sister's costume, JaCkaL829!!

Little update on my costume situation...

Spartan cheerleaders are no more...The place we ordered from (www.costumecraze.com) is a fraud! They claimed the costumes were on back-order and they have a no return policy. We proceeded to cancel our credit card transaction before it even occurred, and left them with some profane language to ponder about.

Liz went out and looked for a lil and found a Dorothy costume for herself...Me, I am the tinman...She's been working on my costume for about 3 hrs so far. She got gutters for legs, air dryer ducting for arms, a funnel for a hat...all painted in a chrome/aluminum finish. :)

She told me she's gonna spray me down out back with a bottle of chrome spray paint. Then I get to stand out there til it's dry and then we'll go to the party...This is a lot of work, but I'll post a pic or two up :)

Sean,

That's disappointing about the "CostumeCraze.com" fraud but glad that you're not out money on the deal.

I think your new idea sounds much better!!:bigups :bigups Just one word of caution however . . .be sure that the paint is "safe for human skin" (ie makeup as opposed to regular type paint). I'm sure you've already thought of this, but I would be remiss as a mother, not to warn you. :)

Looking forward to seeing pics!!

Norah

Norah: She's gonna paint all of the costume on me :)

My skin is getting silver skin paint...not to mention the silver hair paint too :)

Sean,

It sounds great!!! Just hope you don't encounter any DC'ers who might want to buff out any imperfections, before adding a layer of Natty's or Souveran :rolling

Can't wait to see pics of you both!!!

Norah

Watch out Sean, Norah may use her M/F to buff you off.

If you want a really crazy time come to Madison, WI. :drunk This is where the ultimate Halloween bash is. :drunk You need to go to the downtown area, being more specific the State Street area. :drunk :drunk Crowds are expected to be in the 60-80 thousand range. :drunk :drunk :drunk In years past this bash has made it well over 100,000 people. :drunk :drunk :drunk :wait It is probably one of the most wild parties you can go to. We get college campuses shipping in from Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, etc. just for this party.

Hopefully they don't have a riot like last year. They are suppose to have 200 police officers on the streets, and many more for backup. If anyone is interested I can post a link to the articles of the party, after it is over.

Here are our costumes :)

Liz is Dorothy from Wizard of OZ....Yes she is making a Mamosa :)

I was the TinMan. Total time to complete... 7 hours

Air dryer ducts for arms, aluminum gutters for legs, thick poster board for my chest plus the buttons. Everything held together with hot glue and duct tape. The hot glue gave the 'welding' affect. Silver face paint and silver hair spray, a funnel for my hat, and slippers on my feet. This was ALL painted with metallic silver. I have to give my girlfriend a big thanks for this costume...I got voted best costume at the party last night :D

Happy Halloween!

Liz & Sean,

Great Job!!!:bigups Absolutely Fantastic!!:bigups I think that is far better than a "store bought"!!! You certainly deserved the award!!:)

haha very nice! one of my teachers was the straw man guy from the wizard of oz, that was pretty good. maybe we can talk about the best costumes that we saw!

as for me..... well, not halloween for me. im just stuck here studying for a couple tests and finisihng a paper. i guess you could call me a student! as for the cheerleader costumes, thats too bad. i know my teacher and his friend wanted to do that, but then the girl teacher was too self conscious about wearing a cheerleader outfit (shes over 50).
