Hail To The Redskins

Definitely the Colts look like a better team this year than any other year. Also, the Pats have broken the record (which they also broke last year) for most different starters used by a playoff team. Frankly, the Pats are so banged up two months ago I didn't even think they would make the playoffs. This is what's so great about football. You never know who will win.

As much as I love the Colts and want them to win, I really don't want them to meet up with the Pat's. I don't think the outcome would be the same as it was earlier in the year. :surrender So, I'll be cheering for Jacksonville this weekend :D

Definitely if the Pats see the Colts again it will be a better game (provided no one gets hurt against the Jags - knock on wood). When the two teams met earlier this year the Pats were basically fielding their third string. There are still a lot of positions on the team being manned by second or third string players, but at least these people have a little more experience under their belts and are playing better.

Well I hope your NFL teams have better luck than the Georgia Bulldogs. Just got back from the Sugar Bowl in Atlanta, and we got spanked by West Virginia!

Redskins are the sworn natural enemies of the Cowboys. Wasn't it always the short straw owner which had to the the role when playing cowboys and indians?

I booed some of my most *hated* NFL foes such as Sonny Jurgenson, Billy Kilmer Diron Talbert (how could he have gone to Texas and left to play for the enemy -- traitor!!!), Joe Theismann (originally pronounced theesman, btw - and still hate to listen to what passes as commentary from him).

All of these bad guys coached by the most *hated* and infamous George Allen! Now coached by the more likeable Joe Gibbs, I have to work to muster up the venom to despise this enemy as I should. Sometimes I catch myself actually feeling a bit sorry for them, then I come to my senses. ;) One thing still makes a victory over this team ever so sweet...the fact that little Danny Snyder is somewhere throwing a crybaby temper tantrum somewhere. :D

Am I bitter that our perennial whipping boy turned the tables on us this year, sweeping our series meetings??? Heck yes! Am I also tired of this lame head coach we're currently stuck with??? Heck (x10) yes! :realmad: Can we send him back to where he came from?

As for TB fans, I wouldn't get too excited about your post season prospects since you are counting on Chris Simms leading your offense. Of course in these times of "parity" in the NFL, I guess anything is possible. This Saturday, I'll be pulling for the NFC East. Dare I say..."To He.....errrrruhhhh Hail to the Redskins" :help:

Mr. Clean's post reminds me of a story. I was at the Superbowl last year in Jacksonville. There were SO many Eagles fans there. I think I saw one Cowboys fan there and he almost got beat up by the Eagles fans. There were all these people wearing Patriots shirts and the shirts of other teams and only this one guy wearing Cowboys gear. I'm wondering if he's still alive. BTW Eagles fans (at least the ones I encountered that day) were some of the most obnoxious, beligerent, drunken, loud mouth fans I've ever encountered.

:rofl How 'bout them Cowboys!!!

GO BLUE!!!!!!!

1 Clean WS6, don't get me started :realmad:

I've got a coach to trade, but seems no one, including the fans from his previous teams, seem want him

I am confused by your go blue sentiment. According to your location data, I would think you would be a Falcon fan

But hey...I'm riding the high of a Texas National Championship right now!

It took a lot of pride-swallowing for you to say that, and for that, :yourrock

Your "lame head coach" really angered me when he refused to walk over to Coach Gibbs for the traditional handshake after the Skins-Dallas game. Joe attempted to rectify the situation by waving, but Parcells stomped off the field. Grrr :boxing:

Wow! Real estate prices are a lot more reasonable in MD than they are in MA. I think $400K would buy you a 1,000 sq. ft. condo here. It would be REALLY difficult to get into a house at that price here especially a nice one in a nice neighborhood.

We're quickly catching up with you, Mikeyc. Homes such as our $300k home are selling in our neighborhood for almost $600k, after just 5 years. Whoa. I throw away dozens of HELOC and loan offers every week.

crobinso, Yeah, he's a real class act. (that's sarcasm in case you missed it  ) I would love to send him back home, or anywhere.

As for all this talk about him being a hall of fame coach, I don't know he was either lucky or just forgot everything he ever knew. In an uprecedented move (for him anyway) Jerry Jones gave full reins over to Parcells as a condition of him coming here. I haven't seen much from him. Please, let him retire or quit or whatever. Just get him the heck out of Texas.

I think what has played a large part of the success of Bill Parcells over the years has been his assistant coaches. If you look at all the talented coaches he has worked with there's little doubt about some of the football brain trusts he has assembled over the years. There is Bill Belicheck (3x SB winning coach w/ the Pats), Romeo Crennel (head coach of the Browns), Charlie Weis (Head Coach Notre Dame), Al Groh (frmr head coach NY Jets now head coach of U. Virginia) just to name a few. When Bill Parcells came to the Cowboys however he was pretty much forced to keep all the same assistants by Jerry Jones.

Well, it sure doesn't seem that any success (speaking of the past, since we haven't seen any in his 3 seasons here), must have been with someone other than Bill himself.

Not true. Memory is a bit fuzzy on all of the particulars, but I do remember a few things. One, Bill had been out of coaching (was it for 4 years?) so he didn't have a coaching staff, in spite of that he managed to effect a pretty major overhaul. But was it for better or worse? Two His first coaching change came less than a week after his hiring when he hired Maurice Carthon as the offensive coordinator. Which was a failed bit BTW and Three Of the 13 current assistant coaches I can confirm, 6 were hired on in 2003 (Bill's first season), and 4 were hired during the '04/'05 seasons. Making 10 out of 13 assistant coaches "Bill's boys". The three other coaches are Gibbs (LB), Juraszek (strenght & conditioning) and Zimmer (DC - NOT Detail City, but Defensive Coordinator).

One of the more stupid moves he made was when he did not renew the contract of kicking coach Steve Hoffman, a man who had proven season in and season out an asset by bringing along new kickers during the kicker carousel that occured during the JJ period.

Well, if there was ever any time to talk crap about a football game, this is definitely not it. How we pulled that out of our a@#, I do not know. To win a football game with just over 100 yards of TOTAL offense is beyond me. I think the boys need to do some serious practicing this week. We owe this one completely to our defense.
