Guys...what are you getting the wife for Christmas?

Just like every year I am stuck trying to figure out what to get the women for Christmas. I always have trouble with my wife and mother. You would think that someone you spend so much time with would be easy to know what to get!

:Geezx

Diamonds are a woman's best friend! ;)

I am thinking diamond stud earrings, but that may be for our 1 yr anniversary (shortly after Christmas). Also, I am looking at a nice Seiko watch and a few other goodies.

What about her favorite perfume? Favorite clothing store/shoes? Gift card to the spa is always a nice gesture.

Regards,

Mike

Well what I do is have her make a list of what she wants. I will pick a couple small items from here list so that she gets some stuff she needs. I always keep my ears open for when she sees something she likes but will not spend the money on herself. one thing I seem to get every year is her favorite perfume as she would run out of it if I did not. does she have an omega necklace? you can buy her a charm for it. another good idea is a gift certificate to a spa. they offer a few packages and tell me a woman who does not like a massage and some pampering, especially after the holidays. I know my wife very well as far as taste goes so I am lucky in that I know what she likes or wants. tried to be more general here. hope this helped out a little. lol looks like we have some of the same ideas already ha ha ha ha ha .

I gave up trying to figure out what to get for the wife years ago so now I just flat out ask her what she wants.

This year she wanted a Mother's bracelet with the kids names and birthstones.

I will probably also get her a spa gift certificate and some of the usual stuff from Bath and Bodyworks :D

I'm with Flatstick. I listen and then buy. I think she will be getting a new coat and some brown leather boots.

Yeah, I have asked but she just tells me she needs new pajamas. I would like to sort os surprise her with something more than just pj's. LOL I think the spa idea might work. There is a good spa right down the road from us too.

My father and mother are getting a new refrigerator.. They agreed not to get anything else for each other but that never goes well..

That is what my parents usually do too. They just buy something for the house and not buy for eachother.

The spa will be a nice surprise for sure. is there anything you can remember her saying she would like in the last couple of months ? I know if I keep my ear open my wife will actually tell me what to get her, without knowing it of course lol. did she have anything she uses break on her recently that needs to be replaced ? what are her hobbies ? maybe we can narrow things down a bit. there must be something she wants but will not spend the money on for herself.

Nothing I can think of. I have been trying to think hard too. She likes to mess in the flowers so I was even thinking of a nice garden tool set as well.

If she's a gardener, then a nice tool set is definitely a good idea. I'd also suggest one of the low benches with wheels...they sort of look like a kid's toy. But, they give you a nice little bench to sit on while you're gardening. Saves the knees. :)

Here's one...Gardening Tools

Gardeners.com is a great company, btw...too bad you're far from Vermont. They have amazing stores.

You might also take a good look at the gardening tools she does have. A pair of really high quality trimmers/nippers, especially, can really save fatigue in the hands.

 I'm going to let her live here with me another year... :chuckle:

Seriously... she picks out the jewelry she likes, I go get it.. problem solved.

I really don't like shopping for my wife. We don't spend a lot so I'm not getting her expensive jewelry. She doesn't have any hobbies at all. She mentioned a waffle iron, but I really don't like to buy that kind of stuff for Christmas. Clothes are always a fallback, but that gets boring. I'll be getting her a coat, but I haven't decided if I should get it or have her pick it out. I know what I want to get her, but not sure if she'll like it.

If it comes from your heart I wouldnt worry about her not liking it :dance But if she doesnt...don't blame me :chuckle:

Already purchased and almost paid for. Got her a new laptop. Widescreen version with a few bells and whistle's to do things with the Ipod and some photoshop work. Hey, it is what she wanted.

From the heart.

Well somebody mentioned quality tools and a nice bench. that sounds good. also might want to get a look at the shape her gloves are in. you can check the size and get her a nice pair. think we are on the right track here. something she enjoys doing and thoughtful also :2thumbs: is she into bath and body products at all ? look around and see if she has any. you can always ask her mom or friends if they know of anything she has talked about needing.
