guru reports

You are a pro who has a lot of disrespect of Zaino and Zaino users, it's documented. It was your top seven reasons you'll never try Zaino that was one of the first posts I've read on this site, so maybe we both are part of the problem. I see that someone sent you a sample and you used it, and wrote a fair review. Yet you threw in a recent post is was harder to use w/o clarifying that you meant multiple coats of Zaino compared to one of any other, was that fair?

I've tried to keep an open mind and I've tried more products last year than ever before. But there's a group of you 4*- poorboys crew that always through negativity at Zaino posts.

And thus ends my reading of this thread. :bigups

If I said I didn't like your favorite LSP you wouldn't hold me up to ridicle, or at least ask why?

I dunno. Z is a non issue for me and really almost everyone here, I think. Bottom line, does the car look great? If so, it doesn't matter if you used Z, or Nu Finish, or sprayed it with cranberry juice and let it set overnight.

I don't use Z. You do. My friend Eric does not. My friend Kirk swears by it.

Awesome. Let's all have a beer.

The Guru Reports. I never felt the need to drop the dime on them. I've been privy to some excerpts, though. They're about as useful and as accurate as Consumer Reports, which is to say, FOR ME not very; but both make a good read, and are worth the price of admission for their entertainment value alone. What I've seen is well written, just not useful or informative for me.

So, that guy likes the Guru Reports, and this guy doesn't. Awesome! Let's go get a pizza!

SilverLexus SERIOUSLY dissed my favorite wax, #26! OUCH! THAT HURT! Burn, SilverLexus, BURN! I HATE YOU FOR THAT! Ya wanna get together next time yer up in the Poconos? We'll head out to the Pocono Raceway and see if the Porsche Club is running laps.

Anyhow, that's my point.

It was well said, but that particular comment was only directed to Scott (just for clarification purposes). I could also care less what is put on a car so long as it looks good. But nufinish is taking it too far, lol.

When I started detailing I was using turtle wax, 25 years ago not much was available. This is off topic probably but I noticed that at target regular turtle wax was less that 3 bucks today (regular price no sale). That's probably what is was in the early 70's when I started detailing mom's car. Competition probably kept that price down on that product. Anyhow, she was always happy at that turtle wax shine.

Just to clarify-I've never said I don't like Zaino, I've said I am not willing to do some of the additional work applying Zaino that *some* members insist be done and some of the zealotry of some members when I first got to Autopia really turned me off to even trying it. It isn't about you or your preferrence at all. It doesn't matter to me in the least what you or anyone else uses. If you are happy and your customers are happy then who am I to say you are using the wrong products.

I think you would have initially been received a lot better, IMO, if you had simply stated that you liked Zaino and why and left Guru Reports completely out of it. I know my first impression of you was that because Guru Reports said Zaino was number one, no one could argue with that. I prefer to hear from you personally what you like about products and why. I also want to know what you have tried and how it measured up in your own testing. Guru Reports is a very good guideline to last step products. I appreciate all the hard work and money that went into the testing and publication. I think there is a lot of good information about the proper use of products and the absolute necessity of proper prep to get the best results. Many of the LSPs showed little improvement because the initial prep was so good, which explains all the C's. ;) I read through my own copy every few months and always seem to find something I missed. It is a very nice publication, but it isn't the last word in LSPs. I am quite sure Steve will be the first to admit that.

Now that I have tried Zaino and found that many of the steps *some* members mentioned are not required to use Zaino and the person who asked me to try it was not pushy at all about it, I have an appreciation for the product I didn't use to have. I can use AIO as a base and the results are excellent. It has been more than 3 weeks now since I used it on my brother's Odyssey and even though he hadn't washed it since we got snow last week, it still looks really good.

Scott, use your Ignore List...I did.

I have never used my ignore list on on web board I go to. Even if someone disagrees with me or doesn't like me personally, it doesn't mean that they never have something interesting or useful to say.

I'm not sure why your going on and on. I believe I stated exactly why I like Zaino and the reason I bought up Guru tests is because this post was a question about guru tests. The first post was a question about the top ten and a summary. So that means that all of you autopians who have a problem with guru and Zaino will take this thread to the dogs right? I have also stated over and over that Guru didn't test enough of the synthetic sealants. Even though the test was two years ago it's time for a new one. But if someone asks me a question on a post again about Guru, I will answer it again. Maybe I will have to tailor my response to all the sensitive people out there. I don't dislike you at all, I don't dislike the products you like, in fact I'm looking forward to trying more. What's going on with detailing and detailing products the last two years has made this an intersting hobby/occupation. I will retire from this thread because I believe I've answered what the point of it was.

Tom, That's one of the best posts I've read in a long time.

Burlyq- the point I am trying to make and maybe I haven't been clear about it is that if Zaino didn't come out on top, I doubt you would be talking about it so much. If I am wrong, sorry, but that is my impression.

I don't have a problem with you, I just wonder why you seem so fixated on the guru reports, that's all. :)
