Gunk on the steering wheel.

I have 11 years of dirt, grime, sweat, hand cream, etc. on my leather wrapped steering wheel.

1. What can I use to take off all that stuff? I tried denatured alcohol this morning and it turned the white rag black, but did not get all that stuff off.

2. What can I use to replenish the leather?

Thanks.

(I love this forum!)

PS - Maybe I don't have leather. How can I tell if is leather?

It is a 1995 Audi Sport 90 Quattro. I know the seats are leather.

Do you have an interior mixed apc? A diliuted 10:1 or 20:1 apc should remove the gunk with ease. I don't know if you have it, but zaino z9 leather cleaner does a great job of prepping leather as well. Both will work.
