Gulp....help please?

Ditto the info about not using water with the SSR's. Also, if you used SSR2.5 with a cutting pad you should follow-up with 2.5 on a polishing pad to remove most, if not all of the hazing that remains. If needed, you can finish it off with SSR1 on a polish, not a cutting pad.

Meg's #80 is good, but it has a lot of polishing oils that remain on the finish and *may* hide some of the hazing. Do an ISO wipe-down after you use #80 to make sure you actually removed the hazing and it isn't just hidden with the oils.

I'm trying to find #80 as we speak.

Here is a link to the Meg's dealer locator. Just change it from "Consumer Products" to "Professional Products" or you'll get a list of all the Wal-Mart's, Target's, etc. in your area:

SwirlBoy call your local auto paint supply stores, they should be able to help you out.

Where are you located? If we knew your location we might be able to tell you where or who has some #80.

I had a similar problem lst year on my black Stratus mostly on the hood. Even #80 did not bring up the shine fully, which it usually does. Went over it by hand with Scratch x and foam applicator and it got rid of the hazing. You could try it with the PC and a polishing pad as well.

:werd: You may have to go back to 2.5 with a polishing pad to remove the haze. Follow with #80 and seal with Souveran.

I simply don't understand why the 2.5 followed by 1 won't take care of this Haze. SOme pics would be very beneficial in the diagnosis of this problem. I have never heard anyone complain about the 2.5. Most can go straight to the LSP afterwards. THis one really has me scratchin' my head!

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys, I had to detail 3 cars this past weekend in preparation for a big F-body show called G9. I'm sure 1 Clean WS6 knows what I'm talking about.

Anyway, here's the update:

I originally went with 2.5 and a cutting pad because the polishing pad did not remove the swirls that I was faced with. After that, I had marring left from using the 2.5 incorrectly. After that, I made sure to use the polishing pad and the 2.5 with the correct technique to remove the small marring in the paint left from the improper usage. This, thankfully removed it. After that I was left with the hazed paint.

Use 2.0 or 1.0 with a polishing pad right? ...Wrong, this for some reason, this did not help. I went with 2.0 with the polishing pad, then 1.0 with the polishing pad. Keep in mind, I know how much material to use on the 2x2 area as well as how long to work the product. I have been reading from the top posters as well as reading up on what Mr. PB's himself has been saying. I’ve also done 5-7 other cars with the PB’s SSR line with great results. I’m not sure how the water would affect the polish as I only use a tiny spray for the ease of polishing. I have used this method on all of the other cars I’ve detailed with awesome results.

I’ve called around all of Jacksonville Florida and I haven’t even found one drop of #80 so I had to order it. Thank you for the link to the distributors. That worked awesome. My #80 will be here on Wednesday and then it will be a mad rush to finish the car by Thursday night. I’ve got to do some serious detailing for this show. The bar is really set high and I’ve got a person in mind that I’m trying to one up. Right now, I’m waiting for the #80 and I’ll be trying that.

While I wait, today after work, I will hit my paint with the 2.5 and a polishing pad in the sun with no water as a lube. Maybe that’s my problem. Who knows. I’ve got everyone on here scratching their heads so you can imagine me being a newbie to all of this! I’m clueless!!!

Thanks again for the help guys. I’ll try to get photos sometime today. I’ve just got to steal my friends digital and pop off a few shots.
