Load ratings are pretty conservative, I've personally put 2200lbs of logs into a half ton truck. The owner sold the truck soon after though, so I don't know how the suspension held up. Bet the current owner knows, though .

That's still not as bad as that picture of the jetta carrying a huge load of wood from an 84 Lumber yard, I laugh everytime I see it.
