I'm gonna give this wax a try, i've been intrigued by it for some time now. anyone here tried it? i'll let you know my results when i get it.

GT:20 is a custom engineered formula consisting of Pure 100% White Ivory Carnauba Wax* developed for connoisseurs and perfectionists looking to achieve the deepest possible shine and unmatched brilliance & clarity, that comes to life under changing light. There are no dyes, perfumes, or other impurities in our wax, we are confident you will not find a better wax for your ride on the Planet! GT:20 is a precision hand poured paste wax. The mixture and emulsification process requires over 20 hours of blending at a precise controlled temperature to assure a micro fine emulsion paste. The complete process of production takes 9 days from start to finish. To ensure no separation and proper emulsification the final wax emulsion is poured at a precise temperature into the heat resistant tins. The poured emulsion is then cooled at ideal room temperature in an air tight environment to limit precipitation and to ensure that no contamination or airborne materials come in contact with the paste. After 24 hrs of cooling each product is tested, against any kind of separation or imperfection. The approved product is placed into our cold chamber binding cooler to harden the emulsion and prepare the product to be sealed and packaged for car enthusiast, pro shops and car guys everywhere to enjoy. *White Ivory Carnauba wax is the highest quality and hardest natural wax found on the planet and the most expensive. This is why 98% of all other waxes use the much less expensive lower grades of Yellow Carnauba which does not provide near the shine, protection or performance found in the GT:20 formula. Carnauba wax is produced by the leaves of the tropical carnauba tree as protection from the incredibly harsh conditions found in the tropical rain forests- Unimaginable heat, intense direct sunlight along the earths equator, and constant rain & humidity.

[*White Ivory Carnauba wax is the highest quality and hardest natural wax found on the planet and the most expensive. This is why 98% of all other waxes use the much less expensive lower grades of Yellow Carnauba which does not provide near the shine…]

The above is mostly marketing copy- White Carnauba wax varies from a very pale yellow (so called ‘white/ivory’), through a greenish brown (yellow). It is the world’s purest and hardest natural wax repellent derived from the Brazilian palm Copernia prunifera, this wax coats the fronds and is hydrophobic; it forms a barrier that is a natural deterrent from acid rain, airborne pollutants and acidic bird excrement.

Its colour is determined by the ages of the leaves when harvested, and ranges from pale yellow (new, unopened leaves) to a greenish brown (older leaves exposed to sun and weather).

White carnauba does not exist, however natural and synthetic carnauba can be modified/made to look whiter. However another source is by using synthetic carnauba, which is a carnauba that is close to a pale white colour. White carnauba can be produced by using quantities of bleach, although I would question what could be gained by doing so.

During the blending process, as the wax is melted to a liquid, additional oils are added, which "wet" the surface. This gives the finish the ‘jetting’ look (liquidity)

It should be noted that Carnauba wax provides very limited shine; wax is a dull substance that provides protection, and will not produce gloss without the addition of an additive (oils, polymers including silicones, etc) which will produce a reflective gloss, jetting or depth.

Jon, absolutely correct!

A BIG bunch of marketing words to entice the uninformed to spend a lot of money for a not all that special product.

Grumpy

I think GG's 50/50 would be a better choice. And it is on sale right now. I ordered some and I am going to put it against my Zymol Vintage. I'll bet you can't tell the difference.

Thanks for all the info. i have pete's 53, cg's 50/50, both great waxes. i'll just have to wait and see how this one performs. you're right when you say marketing hype and the uninformed, but don't they all do the same thing and don't you sometimes go out and purchase it anyway?

I'm sure many of us do; but when the correct information is provided, as opposed to marketing mis-information it allows you to make an informed choice...

Finally got the gt 20 wax. It's a very white, hard wax, which i like. It's not soft and oily, not necessarily a bad thing, but it lends me to believe it will be more durable. The directions say to apply a thin coat either by hand or machine, i always use my pc to apply wax or sealant to save my body and i feel it works into the paint more, after detailing for 40 yrs i think i need to save my shoulders and hands. It says to let dry 1-2 hrs, which i did. i also applied 2 coats buffing in between. i applied the wax to a black hexlogic pad with a plastic spatula, a little went along way.Easy on and off and left a very nice finish, very warm and reflective, i'll have to wait and see about the durability. On looks alone i would recommend this wax, A little pricey but i think it's gonna be durable and you don't need alot to do a whole car.

Great thread,Thank you to all those who posted...., keep them coming : )

Just looking at CG 50/50 and Zymol Vintage you can't tell a difference. I have tried a lot of waxes. I would put 50/50 as a best buy for the $50 range waxes. Good bang for the buck!!
