Well what a weekend for car detailing, I have done 4 cars, did the astra on firday and then as iwas just about to start the inside a friend asked if i could detail his audi A3 3.2 V6 Quattro, i could hardly say no so i finished on friday at 11pm. (sorry no pics)
Started on another friends car on sat morning megane senic that needed a lot of TCL well that took 3 1/2 hrs with me and my friend doing it. (Also no pics)
This was the monster detail.Prob not for you guys across this side of the water but this is classed as a big car in the UK
After talking to Shooter on DW i decided to go for G3 / and G10 products on this detail. This is the first time i have used these products.
The car is nine years old and is normally put through a scratch and wax every couple of weeks.
Started off by cleaning the car, two bucket method both me and my friend cleaning also using the suds blaster and SS foam. The car wasnt chipped but there was a fair amount of swirling and general scratches. The paint work looked lifeless and dull. Car dried with WW towels. Wheels cleaned extreme wheel cleaner i dont normally like using acid based cleaners but these wheels needed it. Ehaust tips done with autosol.
The befores.
Swirls showing under light gun
After the wash we got out the PC and LC light cutting pad following shooters advice i hit the wing and let my mate Dan have a go with the PC keeping the g3 wet with water it started to break down but it wasnt the cleanist of products to use. Check out the splatter
Dan having a crack with the PC
This what happened to the pad after the two wings and bonnet
The car washed again there was plenty of hazy paint but most defects had been removed. Then for the G10 and white LC pad what a really easy product to use.
Then another wash and dry off
Then just before the rain a top off with megs #26 and some tyre dessing to tyres.
So thats is a really good day and the car looked so much better pity it rained and the sun went in but you get the idea. I am deffinatly going to use g3 & g10 again.
What do you rekon.
