GRRRR How do I keep cats off my car?!

Borgus

Im sick of going out to my car and having paw prints all over the top surfaces of my car. I tried popping up my hood, but that didnt work. They walk all over the top of the roof and the trunk. I have no garage and a car cover isnt very practical as I drive every day and taking it on and off by yourself is a chore. What can I do?! They scratch my paint!!! :gun_banda :gun_banda :gun_banda

when you figure it out let me know because i'm gonna :gun_banda and then give whats left to the :chinese: resturaunt

And no I'm not a cat hater, I have one but mine stays in the house and doesn't leave paw marks on other peoples cars

do they have tags on them? tell the owner of them to keep their f'ing cats off your car! lol...yes i also have a cat. :beer_smil

This is a long shot but years back I had rabbits that where eating and peeing all over my lawn...I searched the web to find anything and found a place that sells bear urine of which rabbits avoid BIG TIME.....I sprayed it on the outside areas of the lawn and the little buggers would not come on it.......Bar part is it wears off so that was only like a temp fix.......You might be able to find something like that at a pet store or online and spray on a towel that you can leave on the car and see.....Its not an easy fix with out a garage...hope this helps in some way.....I feel for you

Beemer I appreciate the thought but I have no intention of putting urine (dried or not) on my car, and as for the menure. I have enough sh!t to get off my car without putting anymore on

Deuce:
No the cats the ran in the area are strays, I have a neighbor who has a bad habit of feeding them but when you approach her she says that they aren't her cats

Use some packing tape, sticky side up on a piece of cardboard. Place it on the hood, or wherever the cats are jumping on to your car. Repeat as necessary. It shouldn't take the cats long to realize that your car is bad juju. Hope this helps.

I ordered one of these yesterday.
I have two cars inside and one out.
I also have had our own inside cat get into my garage through an OPEN HOUSE DOOR and jump on my black hood. Also SOMEONE has left the garage door open while I am away and an outside cat did the same thing. Normally I have the cover on the black car, but if it has been driven, I want until it has been washed.
If this does not work, something very bad is going to happen! :innocent:

sweet mat...haha if i had one i would probally switch it on then roll around on it. just to see what the cats feel. hahah. but im just wierd. :bb:

green coolant in a little dish will cure all your problems. i don't mind cats as long as the don't cause problems.

I meant a little visit from the animal control truck. I am not going to poison a cat with coolant.

I would suggest calling the animal control people in your area and ask them if they have a live trap that you can borrow and put a little tuna in a bowl in there and catch the cats and then animal control will come get them. Well, that is what worked with me other than I had to buy my own trap but it was well worth the money I spent on the trap considering I caught and sent over 10 stray cats out of my apartment complex.

One possiblity you might try... mouse traps. Put a sheet on the hood to protect your paint, folded a few times, then set the traps, but you're going to need to set them such that when the cat sets them off, it doesn't get his paw - it could break their toes, which is not what I'm suggesting. You only want to scare them. When those things go off, they make quite racket - they scare me when I'm setting them! :)

If you use a little ingenuity, you can set them face down. If set off, they will snap harmlessly, but they will make a racket and flip up in the air a bit, should anyway, and ought to do thr trick. If they are set off when you find them in the morning, do it again for several more night.

Now, the cats are not dumb, so they might learn it doesn't hurt them, but I'm thinking they probably won't chance it once they have the experience of setting one off.

Just don't sit them face up so they get hurt on the traps. Put a tiny piece of wood or something underneat one end so you can leave it set and face down. Something like that.

Maybe that will work.

Sprinkle some BLACK PEPPER around the car...on bumpers, cowl etc.
Cats and dogs sniff around...on good snoot full and they are gone. This
also works for your shrubs...the pepper will blow off when you drive the car.

Lots of great suggestions here....mine was not to spray your car down with urine or manure, but to use the scent to repel the critter....Most all animals have natural enemies and once they pickup the scent will avoid that area all together....my thought was just to have some in the area, around the car or on a towel set on the car so that they could pickup the scent......The battery mat thing looks like a nice solution and the sticky tape on cardboard....What ever works would be great to see what your feed back is.

I have forgotten to put away some coolant after a flush, several weeks later more tracks. I'm going to Walmart to pick up a Daisy and some BBs.

This has to be the funniest thread I've read in quite awhile. You all should really begin reading from the beginning all over again!

Its called the Borgus Relocation Program. Go get yourself a cat trap and some cat food. Catch the little furry F*ckers and drive 10 miles and let them go. I do that here in Brooklyn, NY cause they piss in the garden and it stinks. I dont have any more problems, once a year I get the trap ready relocate about 5 of them and im good till next year. You get one with a tag, bring it to its owner and tell him to keep it in his house or he aint coming home next time!! Chris
