Griot's Wax Stick

So I received my Griot's catalog yesterday and low and behold, upon opening it up to the first page, I see that Mr. Griot is now selling his carnauba wax in a wax stick form (in a deodorant-style container) claiming "You saw it here first!"

If I recall correctly, wasn't it a member of this forum who was the first to put this idea into reality? I think I saw it in the thread where members were "melting and reformulating" different waxes? This is actually a great idea for those of us that actually use our PCs for applying LSPs. I would absolutely love it if my favorite wax/LSP was in this form!

Another "toy" of interest was his 3" orbital! I wouldn't mind getting one just for LSP application. I find that my PC gets a little heavy after hours of use.

More toys to ponder... thank goodness Uncle Sam owes me some money this year! :spot

I noticed that yesterday also. I just wish Griot's prices were lower and the stick had Natty's Blue or Souveran (EDIT: or maybe perhaps Collinite ;)) on the end of it.

I also like the 3" orbital and the PC/detail supply bag. I wonder who makes/sells them so as to possibly save some $.

The applicator is clever. I'm curious how full it is for $13 which sounds cheap for a nice brick of carnauba. I can see it being quite handy when applying with a PC.

For 3.5 ounces? Wonder if it's filled with ScottWax's Purple Wax :D

They do work pretty good...... well, the one I made with Collinite does anyway. It's very easy to apply it to a PC pad.

wow, I'm going to swing by the warehouse this weekend to exchange something and try one of those deodorant wax stick :-D it's nice living in WA haha

I'll be honest with you... when I saw John's (E. Ness) picture of what he did with the deodorant stick container, a huge, satisfied grin was on my face. What's the old saying about invention coming from necessity? I don't know... it's late, can't think.

Now... imagine, if you will, the container of Natty's Blue... with a big turn dial on the bottom to push out the wax! Yup... to paraphrase Mr. Griot... "You read it here first!"

If anyone can find containers the size of Natty's Blue with a an adjustable dial on the bottom, you're golden...:getdown

Time to hit the hay... I'm tired.

Dude that is an unbeleivably good idea. The only problem with Natty's (besides longevity) is that when you get down to the bottom it is hard as hell to get your applicator down in there.

Usually I just get to the point where I say its too much trouble and then put that jar aside. Once I get 4 or 5 or them I melt em all down and make a whole new jar.

I am fully with the deodorant twist dial idea though.

Well thats it for me I am never buying anything from griots again now because they did not give any credit to eliot ness and he came up with the idea.

...surely, you jest...

Nope I'm not kidding, I guarantee they got that idea from this forum, from eliot, and if they dont give credit then they dont deserve my money.

It is interesting that car wax has been around seemingly forever with no such product ever having been marketed, Eliot posts the Collinite Stick in December, and a few months later it's in the Griot's catalog. :nixweiss

Something tells me the folks over at Griot's don't spend their days surfing the Autopia forums looking for ideas to rip off. Call me crazy :nixweiss
