Griots has officially jumped the shark

How is that jumping the shark? It just makes it easier to get their stuff. I've been buying their stuff froma Volvo dealer near me for about 2 years. Now I can get it about 15 miles closer.

I'm all for anything that helps Richard grow his company. I simply love it that Griot's Garage has been so successful. And I'm thrilled I will now, apparently, be able to get their stuff locally OTC. Wonder how the prices will be  Also wonder if this deal with Advance will last....

Bet AG is not happy. Is this another Surf City?

Watch for reported warranty issues with the GG polisher if you kill more then a few of them. All the excuses start coming out, "not intended for pros, no intended for more then a few hours of use a day."

Also Advance has some decent coupons for online orders with a store pickup. $10 off $50 is common, sometimes $20 off $50.

As Bryan posted above, use coupons and the prices get downright reasonable. The coupons are very easy to find.

I suspect it will be cheaper to get mail order with discounts (free shipping, no sales tax, promos) but if you need something in a rush it can be very convenient. I have not seen them stocked in the local Advance yet.

So Accumulator what are some of Griot's better products ??? I know you like the speed shine.

Griot's products I'd hate to be without:

-Speedshine (for use over waxes)

-Car Wash (only one I use)

-Rubber Prep (freakin' miracle product)

-Polypropylene Window Wipes

Not sure which of those (other than the Speedshine and Car Wash) are likely to be at AA though. I use other stuff from Griot's but nothing else that couldn't be replaced by something from another source. The four above are simply unique IME.

You could add their polisher to the list too, and I've been *VERY* happy with my new 3" pneumatic RO from them (b-day gift from Accumulatorette).

And their foam pads are *VERY* nice, for what they are..I use 'em a lot.

I wonder too... I hope so.

I imagine it is a limited selection of BOS wax, polish/wax mf's, car wash, etc., and maybe a polisher or something. I might have to go soon! Also noticed Autozone now carries 105 & 205 (is that old news?).

What's good? Good car wash, as everyone says... Rubber Prep as Accumulator mentioned, any sponge products/swabs they sell are great quality, Interior Cleaner is great (but don't use on older printed symbols on turn signal stalks;it removes markings). I wish they would sell the sponge that comes with their wheel cleaner as a separate item. Lint free wipes for glass are great.

:think: I live in the largest city in KY, yet the closest AAP that has it is 40 miles away. I did not see any in Lexington either, none in the 2 largest metro areas in hillbilly land.
