I did not know groits machine came with "A Lifetime Warranty" Thats something to really consider. Plus, it has more power. Enough said in my book :2 cents:

I am also a "rotary guy"... the 9227 is my primary tool yet, I am still going to purchase one of these machines...

For me it's all about having the right tool for the given job...

I believe the DA is the way of the future for paint correction and that we will see more advances in chemicals, pads, and machines over the next couple of years....if not sooner.

This has has gotten kind of off topic here....sorry Deep Gloss.

I save time with DA (G110V2) over the rotary by not having to tape and and take my time around cramped areas and edges. Remember, I'm using the word "I" a lot here. I used the rotary for 2 months straight and found that I was getting a better finish faster with the DA. I was using a process very similar to the KBM and it seemed that I was starting out with a harsh combo but my technique allowed me to finish it out in one to two steps (mostly one) and I could not do this with a rotary.

I credit this to learning the DA to best of my ability. If I had started with a rotary, who knows. But I can tell everyone out there that a high quality DA, whether it be the new G110, Griot's, or Flex, can do just as well at correcting or finishing than a rotary. This is with practice of course.

Just look over the last couple of years. The DA has evolved dramatically. The rotary has not changed. Some may argue that the rotary was build right from the beginning and this may be true, but it has such a learning curve.

Look at the Meguiar's for instance. In the last 3 years we have seen the G100, G110, and now the G110V2. Same for the PCXP. And what about all the die hard rotary forum detailers that are moving towards DA use?

Then there is the chemicals. More are being formulated for DA use. Pressure instead of heat.

I just believe that a DA is a safer machine that can get the job done with less prep time thus saving time.

I probably did 60 cars last year with the PC and I was very pleased with the results. I'd match them up against any rotary work. As you stated, KBM is a huge factor... and practice makes perfect!:biggrin:ancing Dot:

Oh yeah. I save time with the DA when I comes to applying the LSP as well. It's been years since I've put protection on by hand (except in hard to reach areas). All I have to do is do a pad change and I'm off. I can LSP a SUV in less than 15 minutes with a more uniform coat than my hands could ever do.

Yeah, I can apply BFWD with the PC in 10 minutes on the Vettes. Great time saver!
