But can you help me out with pads? And I assume it comes with a backing plate?

Do I get 6" Pads some people say they dont work as good as 5" Pads?

Also I know I need orange but do I need yellow? and dont red and black pads do the same thing?

Well, if you are going to use the included backing plate, you will need to use 6" or 6.5" pads as its too large for the 5.5"s. You might want to consider a smaller backing plate, but the Griots is pretty powerful so you might get by with 6". With that combo, I'd think about getting some Orange, White and Blacks (in Lake brand). I personally prefer the flat pads. You also can't go wrong with Megs pads, you could probably get by with just Yellows and Tans for now.
 
Okay Ill get Lake Brand Orange and White and Black but why not yellow? and you will think Ill be fine with 6" Pads?



On detailed image all they have is 5.5" Pads and 6.5" Pads.. Do you recommend another site to order from?

IMO, Orange perfect for 105 and significant swirling. Yellow is meant for older style compounds that don't finish out as well as M105. If you are planning on doing cars with hard clears, order a smaller backing plate and the 5.5" pads, otherwise you might be ok with the included backing plate and 6.5"s.
 
just to add... if you want some 5.5" Flat pads (thin not thick like 6.5" pads), ADS has the buff & shine pads for $35.99 and you can pick up to 6 pads in any combination. it comes out to around $6 a pad...

Are those any good pads though? Is that what I want flat pads?



Also how many of each color should I get?

3 Orange Medium Cut

1 yellow Cutting pad

1 Green Polishing Pad

1 White Heavy Polishing Pad



(Not sure the difference between Green and white though)



Or They have same deal 5.5" CCS Pads 6-Pack for 34.95..

If all you are getting is 6, 2 Orange, 2 White, 2 black. You don't need the yellow or green. You can use 105 on the orange or green and the 205 on the white or black depending on the situation.

I have polished and waxed 2 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors (unmarked) and a VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition this past week with the Griot's Garage 6" random orbital. It worked perfectly and did exactly as Griot's claimed it would perform. I received it in about 4 days. I'm not a detailer, but having been in law enforcement and the military, I like my cars immmaculate at all times. This was the ideal piece of detailing equipment I needed.
