I am thinking about getting the griots garage pneumatic orbital buffer, but it seems like noone else uses it. I have a compressor, and I like how its nice and small compared to the PC. I couldnt find any reviews on it either. Anyone use it??

thanks:)

If Groits is selling a buffer, chances are it's relabeled. Just look around, you can probably find the same tool for much less.

Also, make sure your compressor is be enough, buffers use up a ton of cfm.

the tough part is finding out what make and model it is because Griots isnt going to tell you. In the case of the orbital pneumatic buffer, its not obvious what it is unlike the PC. I have tried to ask the customer service line and to send an email to Richard about doing some price matching, when I wanted to buy a piece of equipment. They wont do it.. I would have rather dealt with them because their customer service is so good. However, they will tell you because their customer service is so good, they wont change their prices..

So good luck.. the best thing you can do if you buy it from Griots is that it will have a lifetime replacement warranty for any reason whatsoever. And that does have some value to it. Only you can decide how much that is worth to you..

Good Luck

They'll give a lifetime warranty on air tools? Thats crazy!

Just go to a local or online tool shop and look for a dual action sander like the ones used in body shops. Thats all this appears to be.

I also emailed, and they wouldn't tell me. My compressor can handle it, I checked the specs that the griots catalog said I needed. I think the orbital is a dynorbital, and I have searched for them, and griots prices dont seem to be more than 10 dollars more. If you download the instructions on the orbital from their website, it says that it is a dynorbital orbital buffer, but I have yet to find one online that looks exactly like it.

igneous- Like you I have a good air setup in the garage so I too considered Griot's air-powered unit. I decided the airhose would be SO much more of a hassle than an electrical cord! Also, I prefer a machine I can use both hands on when need be. But then I prefer the Cyclo, and that's about as far as you can get from the air-powered one! But if you DO want to try it, Griot's would take it back if you don't like it. Another reason why they'd be worth the extra $10. And their guarantee is like almost-free (shipping charges) rebuilds for life. I'll be interested in hearing what you decide.

i might go for it, but am kind of shocked that noone on here uses it. The qualifications for it arent even that high.
