Congratulations Lynn on your new car. I remember the joy of anticipation the 6 months I waited for my 03 M3. Due to what I learned on this board I was adamant about not letting them touch the exterior of the car. I think the dealerships only issue with this is that they put the car in the showroom the day of the pickup, but I held my ground.
As an illustration of the importance of doing this, I recently had my car in for service, and as usual I informed them to not wash the car. Well, they screwed up and washed it anyway. My car is Jet Black and as soon as the sun came out I noticed the swirls and cobwebbs in the paint they induced. I know I didn't do it, because due to my learned technique my imperfections showed up linear in a longitutinal plane. So what did I do two days ago? I washed, polished Meg #80., then AIO, and finally Klasse SG. The world is now right again.
I also have a light colored vehicle, and have found Klasse to be an incredible refective, durable sealant.
