Hey, fellas. I've been snooping around here every now and then and finally made my first post. :) THIS IS HEAVEN!! Well, for car nuts like myself and ya'll.



My latest dilemma is polishing aluminum. I have polished aluminum rims, intercooler pipes, and other misc items. They are already polished..but which aluminum polish is the best? So far I've used blue magic metal polish and they were ok. And then I switched over to Mothers mag polish and they seem to outshine the blue magic. However, the mothers leave a slight haze on the finish and doesn't seem to last as long as blue magic.



Now, I've come across alcoa polish and mother billet polish. Can you guys give me some direction as to which one is worth trying and which one isnt? If all fails, I'll get them both and do a little write up with before and after pictures with the mothers mag, blue magic, mothers billet, and the alcoa.



Also, what is the proper way to strip off remaining polish from aluminum products? I wanna make sure I start from scratch without anything on the aluminum layer.



Suggestions are welcomed since I have tons of parts to bring the shine back out...rims...all the IC pipes, exhaust tip..misc engine parts...all by hand~!!:)

I guess you can call me an extremely picky person...but i don't think i'm alone here. :P I'm looking for something that stands above all else.

Aluminium Wheel Polishing:

Uncoated (to test apply a mild polish, if the applicator turns black there is no clear coat or paint finish) magnesium or aluminium wheels can be polished with a water-soluble polish (Happich Semichrome Polish) For difficult to reach places use a felt polishing cone on an electric drill (Dremal or Groit's Felt Polishing Cone Set) and add a polymer for protection (Zoopseal or Klasse All-In-One)

Aluminum:

For Aluminum, magnesium and chrome surfaces once surface is clean and grease free use Happich Semichrome Polish it can also be used on vehicle mirror mounts and antique radio trim. Once youâ€â„¢ve finished polishing mist the aluminium with some water then sprinkle on corn starch and polish in one direction only, this will also remove any oils. Apply a polymer (ZoopSeal) protection.
