Grease/Dirt Stains on Polishing Pads

Is it just me or when I use the PC7424 about certain edges and corners or even door jams I end up getting my LC pads dirty with dirt or grease, what a PITA. Something like Dawn good enough to clean it and a nice scrub brush too?

Thanks

armoredsaintt- Some surfaces (like rubber moldings, etc.) are gonna transfer if you hit 'em with the PC's pad (so mask them with blue tape), but :o it DOES sound like you need to do a little better job of cleaning things before doing the PC step. I mean, my doorjambs are as clean as the hood of my car..some of the dirt that stains the pads might do something nasty to your paint once it gets stuck to the pad.

Yeah, Dawn and toothbrush should clean the pads up just fine. Dont sweat it if a LITTLE bit of staining remains.

on my TT it's spotless on the doorjams and etc., but I was doing one of my parents car which isn't that well loved as mine, so on their doorjams it's a little dirty. I'm sometimes hesitant to use my good MF's to wipe their car down too, end up using my old cotton towels instead :D

Blue tape :xyxthumbs Definately worth the extra 10 minutes to mask everything off. What a pleasure polishing with out taking painstaking measures to not to hit the trim.

unless its aio!

Yeah, it's great to just NOT have to worry about getting a product on things! I must use AIO on everything except rubber (and I sometimes use it on some kinds of THAT!).

armoredsaintt- OK, I understand now. Still, I'd hit those doorjambs on your folks' cars with some solvent then some AIO, if only to make your washes easier. You sure wouldn't want to pick up something really nasty and get it on the paint. And if you get 'em clean enough to use your good stuff on 'em, the job'll go faster ;)
