Grease and tar

Hey Guys and Gals:

I used the 3M grease and tar remover on the car over the weekend. Took all the spots and grease smears off, no problem:xyxthumbs. I would recommended it highly, although I can't say for sure what it does to the coats of wax and/or polish that are on the car. Appreciate all the input. Also tried Meg. Gold Class car wash liquid....I was quite happy with it....car looked about as good as it did when I drove it off the lot. No time and too cold in St. Louis for extended detailing duties, but getting ready to do a polish and wax job if it warms up a bit.

I would think the tar and grease remover strips the finish of everything. (Previous wax and polymer layers)

I always use the tar remover first, then wash the car, then rewax.

The only thing I would add is to clay to make sure you get the paint really clean followed by a good wash to git rid of all traces of the tar remover.
