Took the time today to do my grand cherokee with the new PC that my buddy got me!!

Weather was about 38 degrees but it was very windy and cold. However I spent about 4:30 minutes probably total and I was very happy with the results.

Process:
1. Washed with meguiars nxt wash.
2. Dried
3. Mothers claybar with the showtime lubricant that comes with it.
4. Rinsed and dried again.
5. PC at speed 6 with Mothers Power Polish Stage 1.
6. Wiped down with a microfiber.
7. PC at speed 3 with Mothers Power Wax Stage 2.

Wheel wells dressed with AA cut 1:1....Tires dressed with Armor All Foam Spray or whatever you want to call it! Time for the pictures.

Lookin' good! What would you compare the mothers polishes to as to abrasiveness, or filling capabilities? Thanks

Andrew

Thanks for the replies..yes I didnt put a microfiber underneath it...

The Mothers did a great job I think for the cost which is 9.99 a peice.

With a light cutting pad and the polishing stage, the product did a great job, however it did not remove every little swirl there are just a few that you can only see in certain angle of light. However the wetness and rich look with the polish and the wax combined together turned out great!

I was impressed on how the products did for the amount of time I spent with them.

Looks good!!

When are you starting on the ford?

Haha I figured someone would say that...its my neighbors...he doesnt care about it. It basically just sits there unless he needs it to haul something.

However he does want me to do his cadillac.

Again thanks for the replies keep them coming :)

Looks really good...
Now for the big question: Was claying worth it in your book? And how do you like the PC? Can you image that you worked by hand in the past? Good work on the Jeep and good luck in future details!

For claying--ever since I got my jeep I always took immaculent (sp) care of it so the paint tended to always be pretty smooth after I washed and put some spray and wipe detailer on it. However the smoothness is great now after claying it.

Loved the PC only bad part is the vibrations. Much easier then working by hand. However, I tended today to try to hurry a little bit because of the temps were very cold and it was very windy.

Im very impressed how it turned out though!!! Looking forward to doing many different color cars!

Nice work on the Jeep.

Did you wipe down the tires after taking the picture?
What brand of light cutting pad did you use?
Would have completed a second application of power polish with a polishing pad if the weather had been better?
Have you tried Mother Glaze and seal?

No, I always let the tire dressing just dry on there it always turns out really well for me. However on like smooth tires ill wipe it down.

I believe the light cutting pad was made by wolfgang or something.

If the weather would have been better I would have gone for a 2nd application of the power polish and power wax.

No I havent tried the mother glaze and seal.
