Graffitti on Exterior

Hey all one of my good friends truck just got "graffittied" last night. It is some type of a paint substance and it does not come off easy, he tried to scratch it off with a nickel ( I know I know, he doesn't know much about car care) It came off a little bit but I don't want him to scratch the paints surface. He really wants to get it off and he has no idea what to do. Please all suggestions will help. Its like somebody painted a while "tag" on his truck and its not coming off. What should he do? He lives in the california area (near ucla) and he would love it if somebody could take a look at it or give some advice.

Hey thanks for the reply- its like a rubber based paint, it comes off when you scratch it and it definately is a little thick because you can feel it almost like a decal on the paint.



ps- what do you mean by mineral spirits?

As in Mineral Spirits you buy in a can at Home Depot...
 
You can also try stoners bug & tar remover, i have use that to remove paint.



meguiar's scratch x and the pc on speed 6 removed paint for me as well.



it will take some time to remove though
