Alright..I finally ordered and recieved my show car kit from Zaino the other day.

I am ready to order the pc from Coastal Tools which includes the 6" counterweight.

My question is which pads I will need for it and how many.

It will be getting used on my 03 Ford F250 crewcab (Dark metallic blue with silver bottom) and my girls 03 Nissan Murano (metallic silver)

Since both are brand new..I dont have any scratches to deal with at this time.

I would love to know which pads to use with each step of the Zaino (including which pad to use for swirls /scratches when I get them!!) , how many to get, where to get them from, and how you go about cleaning them after each use.

THANKS FOR THE HELP. Cant wait to try this stuff out!!

I used the 7.5" black finishing pad from Top of the line. Used that pad for both Z5 and Z2. I'd get at least 2 (per vehicle).

Right after usage, I wash them out with water and dawn dish soap (the plain blue stuff).

What are you buffing the Zaino off with ? I use Microfiber towels.

Also, are you claying ?

Good Luck !

Yes..I will be claying. And yes...will be using microfiber for the buffing off.

Did you use microfiber for the Z6 in between coats? Do yuo use a seperate towel for applying a wiping off?

Yes, the kit at Coastaltool includes the 6" coutner weight and backing plate.

Yes, I use MF towels for Z6 between coats. I've applied Z5 and/or Z2 with and without Z6 in between and it was noticeable to me.

I simply spray on and wipe off with 1 towel. Keep folding and flipping and you'll be ok. Switch to a 2nd towel if it gets to loaded/wet. If you're streaking then switch towels.

If your looking at using the Z5 for covering the swirls it is recommended it be applied in a back and forth motion ( eg front to back on the hood/roof/ trunk ). I don't know how effective it will be applied circular with a PC . I do know there was a noticable difference on a black car when applied circular. It didn't fill the swirls/spiderwebbing very well going circular.

I don't think a PC will help at all! PC is for products that require heat to activate their properties. Zaino does not require heat.

PC will work if you want to save some time applying it but not for swirl removal.

PC is being used for time savings. An F250 Crewcab Superduty is ALOT of sheetmetal to go over 3-4 times a day with Zaino.

Since both cars are 03's, I do not YET have to worry about swirls ( for now!!)
