Got To Ride In A Ferrari!!!!!!!

 OK, I can see we're going to have some comprehension issues here.

Now, let me clarify this as simply as possible. I've always heard a general rule is that any thread more than 2-3 months old shouldn't be bumped, rather it should just be linked to in your new thread. Granted this isn't a "golden rule" or some kind of "offense," but just a guideline to stick to.

Jeez, you'd think I was telling the guy he did something that could/should get him banned!! :bubba

I have never seen that guideline. Please give me a link to that guide line so I can up my comprehension

oh boy i can see where this is going. Whatever you want to call it. There IS no rule or guideline that says you can't bring up an old topic. But come on a thread almost 2 years old where most times the thread starter and the repliers are no longer around. Whats the point? Start a new thread and link the old one like Shiny Lil Detlr said. In other forums i belong to this is what is recomended you do. again its no rule but its better to leave ancient threads in the past.

I respectfully disagree.

If there is no rule then it should not have been posted as such. IF it is of interest to the poster he should not have been admonished. That is the point of my post.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but what difference does it make how old a thread is?
If it has some interest to a newbie or a longtime member that happened to run across it, why not bring it up?
So the original poster may not be around and times have changed. Maybe someone has the answer today to a question that didn't get answered previously.
As far as this post is concerned, I'm still jealous of zesty-man.:stick
Wouldn't have any interest in 80 in a residential area, but even getting to sit in one would be a kick.
Probably wouldn't be able to get out of it.:)
It might not be terribly relevant today, but I'll bet there are very few of us on here right now that have ridden in a Ferrari.

Oh come on now, quit being such a hardass about it. I never said it was a forum rule -- just one of those "unspoken ettiquite" things that I've picked up from other forums I've been on; and likely I'm not the only one to have picked that up. Just quit trying to put words in my mouth and everything will be just fine.

So an old thread was revived, from what I see this is a no harm, no foul.
A new member thought it was cool so he commented. He may not have even noticed the date. I know got a kick out of seeing notification about a new reply.

I feel that we are just :horse

I put no words in your mouth, Mr. Shiny Lil Detir. If you will go to post #22 it was stated that there was no rule. That is what I was refering to. Not your post. I have and will continue to quote you, so as to be sure that I do not put words in your mouth. The tone of your posts are self-evident.

As to me being a hardass I must disagree with you. I am not the one that was condescending to a new member sighting subtle nuances and ettiquete rules that are unwritten or unspoken. I asked for that guideline but non was given.

So, since this thread has been re-opened, a member recounted an experience. Another member found new information that he was unaware of. As far as I am concerned this is good enough reason to bring up and old thread.

Yet, we can agree on one thing... everything will be fine.

There is no reason for an old thread to bring new negative comments.
How about we just let it go.

Thanks

Look at it this way you are a teenager, driving a BMW, living in Hawaii.
Where would you be on a computer forum, or spending time at the beach with the ladies :naughty
