Got something new to try

Does the label list a QD dilution?

Yes, it says 8oz. of ONR per 1 gallon of water. I've tried that, I've tried adding some OCW and I've also tried further diluting it to 4oz per gallon (and some other ONR/OCW mixtures in between). Never found a combo that worked really well. This is with V2...I've only tried V3 briefly at the recommended QD ratio.

I've never been that impressed with ONR as a QD. I'm curious how OID or OCW would perform at a similar price ratio. Either of them can be watered down much more than the label says and still perform much better than ONR.

Sorry my bad. I should have specified I was asking Scottwax about the new ONR with carnauba. I can see how it looked like I was responding to your post.

With ONRv3, I don't bother with a QD. No need, paint is glossy and slick. Plus whatever ONRv3 leaves behind makes the car easier to wash the next time. I do use it as a glass cleaner and a spot cleaner at QD ratio, but if I want to use a true QD, I've got OID and Quikshine to chose from.

I'm confused on all the ONR versions these days, optimum marketing needs a short lesson on not confusing the customer, or after least labeling each gallon with what version it is.

This one is obviously easy to discern, but I'm sure when V2 of this one comes out they won't even label it as V2.

Pretty annoying but ill deal with it because ONR is good stuff.

I have to agree with this. The gold sticker that says "New Version" doesn't really mean much when there's new versions of each product coming out every so often.

Yeah, after I was done washing, I couldn't believe how slick the car felt. But then I opted for some OID on top and was reminded what _really_ slick is. :D

It would be nice if they put version numbers on it, but then it would create a slew of returns and other "issues." I appreciate they let us know there is a change, a lot of other manufacturers just reformulate without any notice.

I have about a half gallon of v3 left, but I'll go through that fairly quickly maintaining 2 cars weekly with it. I'll definitely buy a gallon of this new version if everything with the new version works as well as v3 + wax.

I love to spike my ONR solution with OCW when I'm feeling fancy anyway thanks to Scott's suggestion in the past.

ONR sells very fast. within a month of an "updated" formula there is no more of the previous version on distributors shelves. So, when you hear people telling of their experience they with version x, they are probably just not using up their gallon that'd already been purchased before the update came out. What I'm saying is that if you buy ONR today, no matter where you buy it...it will be the current product aka v3. We may relabel if it was a reformulation...but there's no need when it's just an update. And if you follow Optimum's updates, ONR usually gets one every couple of years around March.

I'm not sure a short lesson in not confusing the customer is necessary. It's not like v2 is crap the day v3 comes out and honestly, only us forum following hardcore detailer's would even notice the change. Most trips to WalMart could reveal "new improved" products tucked nicely behind the shelf rotation of old stock to the front among a variety of categories from pet supplies to hairspray. Another bit of inside information is we control our stock levels and know when to start making the new stuff. We will deplete our inventory and let our distributors stock get close to a reorder before we even make a batch of the revised product. We sat on the update to Tire Shine for months until it would be easy to impliment. I think most of the irritation from a new version comes from customers who buy a gallon to save money...but only use a gallon in a year or two. But even then, ONR v1 was awsome...so it's not like it's junk even today. We internet shoppers are just spoiled because we are aware when the new stuff hits...and always like the new stuff.

That's good to know Chris. Thanks for the explanation.

Maybe its my imagination but my car looked better to me the day after I used ONR WW. Really sick glow to the finish.

This new ONR sounds exciting. Just when I thought they couldn't improve on ONRv3!

Scott, please let us know if the dirt-releasing character of v3 on paint is retained.

Also, do the MF towels hold onto dirt like v2 or release better like v3?

Finally, what's the price difference with ONRv3?

The dirt releasing properties seem the same, no reduction in cleaning power. I noticed today when I had to clean my windshield that it felt amazingly slick and dirt released pretty much instantly.

I don't know what the final price is yet.

Chris@Optimum, I often mix up a batch of ONRv3 to presoak the car and have some left over. It loses it's blue color after a week or so, but should the ONR work just as well after a week in its diluted form as it does in its concentrated form?

Curious, Chris can you elaborate on this? Just spray the ONR V3 water mix in the bucket with OCW?

Nominal upcharge for the added benefit of wax with each wash should add up over the course of a year.

As soon as I saw the photo on Facebook, this is exactly what came to mind. I recommend clients add a wax every 3 months to their maintenance packages, which I currently only charge $25 for. Adding $5 or so to a maintenance client every 2 weeks would net me more money with less work.

Depending on the cost of this stuff anyway...

This looks like an awesome product. I've never used ONR despite how much I love all the Optimum Products so far. I've used DG 931 and UWW,and I love both of them.

I'm going to try ONR whenever I run out of 931 or UWW. I just don't know whether to go with V3 or the new version with wax. I almost always top with a spray wax like OCW or AW.

I would imagine the new stuff topped with OCW would look killer, but would that be overkill?
