Got my PA order today. Now what?

I have a diamond white color Mercedes that is brand new. I decided to give it the best so I ordered Snow White Carnubaflakencreme (a wax I assume) and High Gloss. I want to use the Snow White after prepping with P21S Paintwork Cleanser. The protection should last a year according to the website. Then I wanted to hit it with a "topper" of High Gloss for that extra sheen.

Then I started thinking about it. You put wax OVER a sealant not the other way around. I "think" High Gloss is a sealant as they say it will go seven months. So, my question is am I doing this backwards? There is precious little out there about the fakencremes and have not even read many reviews on them. I believe High Gloss is considered a final, final lsp but now I`m not so sure. Anyone got an idea about all this?

Sounds like a good idea. I wonder though, what exactly is High Gloss? I know it is listed as a gloss enhancer but is it truly a sealant? The website shows up to seven months of protection so has to be something more than shinny stuff.

your flockencreme is a sealant/wax (just like the centurion flockencreme I have on order)

top it with high gloss

don`t over think it

That sure is one highly dramatic product description. So much so a crescendo of a soundtrack was playing in my head as I read it.

Effective, too Can`t wait to see/hear how it works.

I wondered the same thing and didn`t buy the wax product. Of course here a Autogeek it is overkill on no kill. Try the sealant and if you think you need more gloss do a test spot a day after application of PA Gloss. In my experience sealants look better after a day of cross linking or whatever they do.

I can`t help but you can please please do a side by side with the Sonax PNS or BSD you have? I just want to know if there is a noticeable difference?

Yes, I had planned on doing that as you noticed from another thread. As I said then, I only recently did a full detail using the Sonax products and was very pleased with them on my new car. I have used them often in the past and always was impressed (although they can be a bit "grabby" in application and removal). The shine and protection of the PNS and BS have been the best of all the products I have tried on my previous "diamond white" Mercedes vehicle. I may not get to the Polish Angel before the New Year but when I do I want a side by side with the Sonax so I can judge for myself. And when that happens I will be sure to post the results.

My original question concerning which goes on first - High Gloss or the Snow White has been answered a couple different ways so I still really don`t know for sure. It does appear from the description that Snow White is a sealant with carnauba wax properties added, basically, it is a hybrid wax/sealant as 512Detail said. In this regard it sounds similar to Wolfgang`s Fuzion Wax. If this is the case I do not think it makes any difference which goes on first.

As I also mentioned in that other thread, I like the Wolfgang Spritz a lot and Wolfgang recommends that it be used as a "topper" to Fuzion even though Fuzion is referred to as a wax and the Spritz is referred to as a spray sealant. If there is a more familiar product analogy to be made I think it would be Fuzion paste to Snow White cream and High Gloss to Spritz sprays and so I might use them in that manner, at least initially. I wonder why Autopia does not sell any of the Carnaubaflokencreme products?

Get out of here, you are trying another LSP.

It`s been awhile since I have posted, but here is my thinking.

I look at it like BC/CC paint

Snow White = Base (Color) Coat

BC is put down for color characteristics.

Flockencreme is designed around color

High Gloss = Clear Coat

CC is applied for gloss, and in reality a sacrificial protection to the base.

High Gloss is designed for gloss, maintaining the underlying protection, and a topical sacrificial layer.

So IMO Snow White topped with High Gloss.

I probably would have looked at Alabaster spray before High Gloss.

I`m waiting on my order of Cosmic Spritz and HG for my car.
I have a dozen rockchips to repair with Dr Colorchip, the Cosmic Coat, Cosmic Spritz, and final topping of High Gloss.

Who knows I may add a layer of Gold Zirkon before High Gloss to add an extra dimension to the metallic flake

Well, I could no longer stand it. I got my beautiful 2017 Mercedes CLS 550 in a couple months ago and immediately detailed it with Sonax Polymer Net Shield topped with Brilliant Shine. I was very pleased, as I have always been with this combo on other "Diamond White" Mercedes I have owned. This is my favorite MB color although it is always a pricey option. Trying to up the game I went with Polish Angel Snow White and High Gloss. I had no intention of using PA until after the New Year since my Sonax was still doing pretty well but I could not resist. I washed the car but did not need to even use my favorite chemical polish, P21S Paintwork Cleanser let alone clay again - the paint was in perfect condition and I could see no reason to remove what might have been left of the Sonax.

I applied the Snow White to the whole car (by hand with Griot`s red pad) except for half the hood to compare it to NPS. Frankly, there was little difference in looks although the PA side was very, very smooth - like silk. I then applied High Gloss to everything and it went better with the Snow White than the PNS - this time I could see a nice improvement on the hood side which had the Snow White. I did a second coat on the NPS side and the two finally blended in well enough not to tell a difference. I did a small test area on a lower panel with an extra coat of HG but could see no improvement so one coat was enough over the Snow White.

The application of both High Gloss and Snow White could not have been easier. I have always had a little trouble with NPS and BS in that no matter what towel, sponge or method I used they were a bit "grabby" both to put on and take off. The performance and looks with Sonax were great but the car never felt as smooth as with this PA combo. Like I said, it looks and feels like silk.

Is the rather slight improvement in looks with PA worth the money? Probably not but I like the ease of application and smoothness and who cares about a couple hundred bucks when you bought a car like this! I will always try other things as I am an experimenter at heart but right now the PA Snow White topped by High Gloss is numero uno! The pictures to follow are all inside as it was raining cats and dogs out here today. Accordingly, they do not do a tenth justice to what the CLS looks like in person. In a few months I will do it again (one more time before trying something else), this time using the P21S prep and follow up with outdoor sun pictures. Forgot to mention that I let Snow White cure 12 hours before applying High Gloss. I am not sure if this is necessary but it never hurts.
