Got MUD? *PICS*

GOT PREP?
Yesterday I had a detail scheduled for a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, the owner(a referred client) was going to sell the truch and just wanted to get it "shined up." Nothing fancy on the paint or the interior, just enough to sell it. He told me that he used it to travel on his farm and that sometimes he would "get into a little mud."

Usually when I hear things like this I know immediately to expect the worst, this time was no exception.

Here are some afters of the exterior, I used 00 ranger's pressure washer (thank you very much) and I could not have finished the detail without it.

I pressure washed evreything and used a high ph cleaner to finish the job off. The paint was polished with cherry wet wax on the pc with a polishing pad, just like he said "shine it up." :)

The interior was about what you would expext, dirty.

I treated this vehicle like a dealer would, strong chemicals, and quick methods, that is what I was paid to do.

I pressure waseh the floor mats, used some APC, then pressure washed again, I extracted with the LGCM, and placed them in the truck.

Everything else was cleaned with APC and a MF.

That truck had a boat load of mud on it, thank goodness for pressure washers. Nice job how did the cherry wet wax do I have some and have used it in the past but not with a PC. Might like to try that on my car for kicks

Thanks guys!!

Beemerboy, the CWW via PC is pretty strong cleaner wax and does a good job when a quick decent "shine" is needed. It will remove medium oxidation and blemishes, but very little for swirls(as I am sure you know).

Forgot to post this pic, this is after I pressure washed the wheels wells.

tell the guy that deatiling will improve his gas mileage.

You took a ton of dirt off that thing, spobably had more than a few critters living in there.

Those befores on the wheel wells are nasty!! On large bumps his tires were probably scrubbing dirt.

Awesome work.

I went through the same thing with a truck my cousin was selling. Of course, we were the ones that took it out in the field and got it all muddy in the first place. :D

Man you coulda started a garden with all that mud :lmfao Nice job on the clean up , I'm sure he's gonna get some extra cash from your efforts when he sells it . :bigups How long did the job take ?

Nice job, :bigups
Just saying he needed a 2004 (a one year old truck) "shined" up so he can sell it is a dead give away. :lol

Thanks guys, sorry I was slow to reply, but I was in Dallas. Nice trip, but glad to be home!!

rollman, I had to really hustle and it took about 3 hours.

edschwab1, you're telling me!!! I guess you have to take the good with the bad. :)

Very nice work EBPcivicsi...I have a 02' black Tahoe Z-71 & I'm trying to figure out what to use on the wheel wells, those you did look awesome..also what did you use on the metal step bars? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, on both I used a high PH multi-purpose cleaner that I buy locally.

On a well maintained vehicle you should be able to use just car wash soap and be fine.

If you need something stronger I would go to costco and buy some of their all purpose cleaner. You can buy 1.25 gallons for <$5 and you can dilute it very low and still get excellent results

Jeez!

Amazing work!

I guess you have to give the guy credit for actually using the truck for what it's made for :lol
