:bounce finally got a new car:dance 1st car wit ac, even though they way jersey weather is, i probaly wont be able to use it. anyways, it is a 4dr white civic and i need help to keep it clean. u guys wit white cars, what do u do daily, weekly, and monthly to keep ur paint up:nixweiss

I wash mine weekly and wax it every 2 or 3 weeks. To get white to really look good you need to clay it to get the crud off and then polish it out so it really shines. Then use a good sealant to protect it and give it some polished rock shine and maybe throw on a coat of wax to soften up the look a bit and give it that 'wet look'. Basicly, do the same for a white car that you would for any color. :bigups

:bow :xyxthumbs ur cars paint is madd nice. damn if i could keep it up half as good as u, i would be straight. how often do u clay and do u use quick detailer or something similar .

I only clay when its needed. At least twice a year though. Normally if you keep it washed on a weekly basis and keep the level of protection up to par on the surface then you don't need to clay more than that. I'm not a big fan of quick detailers so I just wash it regularly. I pack a bottle of Platinum's QD in the car for bird bombs and stuff like that, but I stick to washing it when its dirty. I love playing with white though. My garage is my laboratory. :D I've had some interesting results on that car before.

so u only wash once a week and u wax every 2 to 3 weeks:shocked, wow whatever u do keep doing it. i haven't yet developed a plan, but i plan on waxing every 2 months......what do u think too little:nixweiss

ps...do u hand wax or machine wax:xyxthumbs

Usually hand wax. You can't generally use a paste wax with a machine. Well, I guess you can, but it would go slower and probably use more product in the long run.

You should look into some good sealants. I'm a big Klasse and Platinum fan. Those look great on white. :xyxthumbs

i would be straight.

hehe, is this new techno jargon ?

Whites pretty basic, probably one of the easier colors to maintain....

My theory on white, and I own a whitey........

First,.... wash, clay, polish, seal...Carnauba frequently, (Monthly?)

Weekly QD'ing....

wallah, I think Bullwinkle would insert a "Presto!" here...

I own a white car also and have some questions.

When you talk about sealing with Klasse, do you guys mean using AIO and SG and then waxing it or just AIO?

Also what are some top notch clays and polishes?

I was thinking initally thinking about going the Zaino route on my car but I don't like the fact that it doesn't fill in swirls and scratches like carnauba.

When we speak of sealing, I think the consensis is, either Klasse SG, BF II, Platinum, or another type of polymer/acrylic/synthetic....Klasse is a little more forgiving on white than any other color, same with Blackfire and Platinum....As for Carnaubas, they really dont hide or fill swirls, give it a wash or two and there pretty much gone for filling purposes, or the temp's will just plain melt it off.....Some prefer to use them on a regular basis (monthly, or every wash even) You need to take care of your swirls and filling prior to sealing...And you do that with glazes....As for polishes, and if your paints in typical condition for its age, stay with high quality stuff, the Klasse twins (as reffered to), is a great choice....There are many options to use, your best bet, is to single out, what you dont necessarily care to work with, because it doesnt work for you. In other words, experiment, whats good for me, may not be for others....You will find many users on here using Klasse, Clearkote, Blackfire, Platinum, P21s, S100....Souverign(sp) (Pricey), Poorboys....the list could continue for at least two more lines !!! If its basics you have to work with, go with the Mothers 1-2-3 punch !!

i was thinking of claying, sealing, and then using carnauba every 2 months. :nixweiss what do u guys think:xyxthumbs

That all depends on your sealant of choice !! Clay maybe twice a yr....And normally speaking you cant seal of Carnaubas.....
