Got a new job! Hi-end detail shop :)

Hey 4mo something that I recently learned is that the proceeds from the sale of the Detailing book are used to defray the expenses of operating this website.

This website has been a very valuable resource of detailing knowledge so I'm going to buy the book tomorrow (when I'm at work) to help support this site. If I can glean some more useful tips from the book, all the better. :up

Don't take me wrong on this, I don't mind paying for it at all. I just seen the post under announcements that it is free until Nov.

4mo,

Yes, the first half of Autopia Car Care Guide to Detailing will be free until November. To download, go to http://www.autopia-carcare.com/mailinglist.html and follow the instructions. As of today, more than 2200 free copies have been downloaded. WOW!

You will notice that Autopia Car Care has changed... a lot. I have removed all of the original material. It is being reformatted into an FAQ format. The first 6-8 new sections will be available this week.

For those of you on the Autopia Newsletter mailing list, I'm sure you have noticed that the newsletter has not been produced for a few months. Starting November 1st, the newsletter (feature articles) will go out on the first of each month. The newsletter will be the primary mechanism for new "Car Care" content distribution. I have a lot of new and exciting stuff.

I will keep 3-4 months of newsletters online. After that, the material will be pulled off to go into Autopia books. I will continue to offer FREE content, however, the free content will be used to fuel larger works that I will sell... after all, I do need to eat!

Thanks for the info. I ordered the full version. Looks great. I just sent you an email for a password request. Email will explain.

Thanks again.

Well the car sales job wasnt going well and I was looking for a new job and one that would support a nearly full time school schedule. Here in Omaha we have a several detail shops and a new one opened up right down the street from my house March 1st. March 15th I went in to see if they were hiring and they were :) I put in an application and spoke with the owner and the detail manager. One day later they asked me to come in :hurray:

The name of the shop is Elite Auto Spa. We are an all inclusive detail shop and we are the only one like it in Nebraska. We offer many different services and our primary focus is doing the best cars of Nebraska. We offer:
-Basic hand car wash
-Interior/Exterior detail
-3m Chip guard
-Paintless Dent Repair
-Windshield chip repair
-Window tinting
-Wheel repair

Only three people work at our shop, the owner, manage and me. One thing that sets this place apart from the rest, is the owner actually gets into the cars and helps me and Chris out. He is truly an amazing guy and incredibly smart at marketing to new clients and business management. Overall the guys I work with are great people. Which makes all the difference in the world when it comes to a quality business.

Both the owner and manager worked at Lexus of Omaha for a number of years. just from that we have a huge client base. We take pride in making 50 grand+ cars look better than new. Our entire shop is wide open. Its basically all windows so if clients are waiting, they can see us working on their vehicles.

I love my job and there will definitely be a lot of pics to come :)

Mike

I'm Chris by the way, I'm a newbie here :)

Good luck on the new job Mike. Life is short so it's great to work at something you can also enjoy. Maybe you can teach those pros a thing or two LOL. Again best of luck to you.

Congrats, that's awesome, sounds like you found a perfect fit!

If I was still up in that area, I'd drop mine off for you!

This thread is nearly 5 months old. Last I recall Mikey took a job with some rich cat that owns a ski resort :money:

Welcome to TruthInDetailing Chris #2 Hope to see you around ;)

Say it ain't so Flash LOL. Now that you mention it I do remember him posting that Monte Carlo ragtop from the collection. Now you see why my boss only lets me take twenty minute breaks. Any longer and he would have to re-train me.
