Got a 40th Anniversary 370z last night!

As soon as I noticed the little 40th Anniversary section of nissanusa.com I signed up for updates/literature. I didn't hear anything for a while, but one day noticed that it was a "build your own" option. I immediately emailed 5 dealerships to try and reserve one.

One dealership contacted me saying there weren't any in IL, but they found three in St. Louis.

Long story short, my dealer traded an Armada for it. It was trailered to me with only 9 miles on the clock!

I requested the dealer not prep it for me. I wanted to do it myself. Consequently, as far as I can tell (haven't looked really well) there aren't any scratches/swirls yet.

I've only driven it the 2 miles home so far. Need to get a clear bra installed before I go too crazy.

On to the pics....Adam

- The nice Do Not Touch note my salesman put in the window!

- Interior with plastics still in place.

- 9.3 miles! I'm pretty sure that means I'm the only non-employee that's driven it.

- The Z next to my daily driver. 96 Accord. Got 153k miles and going strong.

We just got one off the truck at my work a couple days ago. Its a beautiful car. One of the salesman said it was a limited production of around 2000.

Tight 370z man. Make sure you put that clearbra on, there has been numerous complaints about the paint quality of the new Z ( I'm hearing that Nissan paint quality has always been poor quality though) . I'll be getting one in the future for a weekend ride ( garage queen) or maybe a Porsche Cayman S.:2thumbs:

This is interesting. Has anyone else come across this when correcting? Is it soft or just easily chipped/etc?

I'm definitely putting a clear bra on it ASAP.

I am a member of the370z.com, you can go there to get as much information as needed about the 370z. Owners of the 370z say the paint is easily chipped and scratched, you can still perform the necessary steps of a full detail, just be careful ( test a panel, least aggressive polish and pad, work your way up as/if needed). You must get that clearbra according to current 370z owners. If your looking for one that's been detailed just search (Gotleather 370z), he did one last year, a black one.:2thumbs:

Thanks streetlife, I've already created an account over there. I'll be posting to both that and this site...as each has their own specialties.

my pearl white Z32 had gorgeous paint actually. Can't say the same thing about my mother's pathfinder though.... Or any of my friends' 240sxes. Nissan can lay down a good paint job when they apply themselves.

No problem adalsky, i am a Z enthusiast. I've wanted a Z since i was a kid, a Porsche too. I'm just making sure when i get one it's the right time, based on Nissan listening to their customers. I still have my eye on the Porsche Cayman S too, the only other sports car besides the Z i've always wanted.:xyxthumbs

Looking forward to the detailed pics!! I have yet to see good pictures of a 40th done right!

I don't know what I'm looking forward to more about picking up my Z...driving it or detailing it. :chuckle:

congrat's! Interior color scheme looks awesome. Can't wait to hear more about this baby

Thanks...I'll be detailing it soon (but I have no correction experience so don't expect too much). Then getting a clear bra installed. I'll post threads on both experiences.

Wife sat in it for the first time last night (we went on a 6 mile round-trip drive to the dealership). First thing she says when she gets in..."Are you going to take all this plastic out?"

I told her I was waiting for the weekend so that I can detail it all at once. I am a true nerd...and fit in well here.
