Gorgeous Tuesday - v. Pumpkin 350z and Cinnabar Integra

76* and partly cloudy today. Simply stunning weather for a late September day. I took off of work because I needed to do a bit of maintenance (check coolant problem and re-bleed clutch).

I ended up detailing as well...Go figure.

Started off with my teg. I haven't really done a full interior job in about 4 months. I did the seats and doors about 2 months ago, but I went all out today. My final processes were:

-Oxy/APC+ Mix on mats and carpets
-Water:Woolie on doors, dash, seat, and trim
-4* Leather Conditioner on seats
-303 on dash, doors, and trim
-Bold 'N Bright on plastic trunk trim

For the exterior, I just S+W'd it and AA'd the tires/wells. I am currently still at FMJ x 1. Haven't really had a chance to layer yet, but I will eventually.

Next, a 2003 Laguna Sunset 350Z that belongs to a good friend of mine. I have been helping him with caring for it since new.

It hasn't really needed a polishing and we haven't had too much time with it either, so we chose the best course of action for almost no time.

About 2 weeks ago we S+W'd and then threw a coat of Natty's on. Today, we had a bit of time so we threw a second coat of Natty's after S+W'ing, then dressed the tires and wells with AA.

This thing is absolutely drippy wet with very good depth and clear reflections showing the flake in a pretty blatant way

I just love this color :)

Omfg That Hood!

Sean,

WOW that hood shot is fan-fn-tastic!! :bow

What a difference after the wetsanding!

DAMN, I need to find time to do the Lexus! It's been busy and can't find time.

FMJ looks pretty nice. Did you top with Natty? I must have missed that post.

Anytime you need the Souveran or anything else that comes to mind, let me know and I'll shoot it up to you!

Deanski

Hey Dino,

Yeh, definitely more mirror like after wetsanding and Menzerna. I am happy with the results.

I would like to experiment one day once I get my Trade Secret in vs. Souveran. We could do it at Dunkin Donuts like last time :)

Thanks again for the product hookup. BTW: I am at FMJ x 1.

wow i love that color. its like a golden bronze (that really made no sense at all). very nice! that relfection and depth is amazing! maybe ill have to try out some FMJ for myself :)

Sean,

You got it! I'll meet you there one day!

That PO85RD is one nice product! Menzerna does know how to formulate polishes. Their abrasives are the best in the world and it shows! They make some really nice jewelry and other metal polishes that I am trying to obtain so I can evaluate them next to Flitz and other chrome/metal polishes. They also have plastic polishes as well as wood polishes. It's just a matter of time before we find the next silver bullet!

I'm also locating the full size sheets of the high grit wetsanding paper the 12,000 and lower so we have a better source and avalibility to use full sheets.

Let me know when and I'm there dude!

Regards,
Dino

Interior Question

Hey GSR, what does woolie stand for? I am assuming woolite but that seems extreme on an interior. Also does 303 have a greasy gloss or a like new satin finish? And why did you usa Bold N Brite on the plastic in the trunk when 303 could have worked? Also I have a polished lip as you do on your wheels, what do you use to polish or wax your wheels with? THX

Great job Sean, the FMJ is a very reflective LSP, even on white and silver. I find that 2 coats gives the best look, after that there is no real noticalbe difference except for added protection. I've tried to top it with Soveran and S100, but didn't see a noticable difference either, are you thinkng of putting a carnuba on top, i wonder what the results would be?

Their metal polish is a very nice product aswell very easy to use. Smells horrible but so do most. :bigups

I don't want to jump in the middle here, but I assume it means woolite. Mixed 6 parts water, 1 part woolite it makes a good cleaner for the interior.

Beautiful work. That Laguna Sunset paint on the Z is to die for. Very wet and reflective. What else can I say about the TEG - it always looks good.

AZ: Water:Woolite (6:1) in a high volume spray bottle. 303 leaves a low gloss - satin sheen. I used BnB to experiment. I like the look it gave a lot. We will see how it holds up. I treat my wheels like my paint, polish and seal.

l33: Thanks. I will do 2 layers, then top with Trade Secret. I am gonna do a side by side vs. Souveran at that time as well.

Thanks for the compliments :)
