Good Winter Protectant?

Well the key was for a month.. I am suprised that 16 is getting more votes than Collinite though, maybe many of you haven't tried it yet.

First off, I'm assuming only *one coat* of product. If you're gonna layer then KSG and/or Zaino will be best...but IMO for *this situation* it wouldn't matter anyhow (see below). I have KSG x many on our minivan because of its (IMO) unbeatable longterm protection, but that's not the situation Burlyq is concerned with.



The reason I voted for #16 was what I quoted from above- *ONE month*. While Collinite 476S is my winter wax of choice (and currently is what I have on Accumulatorette's A8), #16 will certainly hold up longer than one month and is a little better at the "self cleaning" thing, which makes it a good "road trip wax". And I just prefer working with it over most products

You could just coat the whole car in Bug Guard before you leave. It can be left on for up to a month... Then you just rinse all the crud and crap right off along with the Bug Guard!



Seriously, I don't know if it would really work like that, but it'd be interesting to see. I voted for #16 as it's a good durability wax. A Mr Clean Auto-Dry Car Wash might be the thing to clean the car off once or twice while on the road.

I wanted to see if anyone was going to address that carnuba's go on thicker than sealants for the most part, and since durabilty isn't an issue I think carnuba would have been the right choice. Also, Carnuba usually melts at low temps, making it a bad choice for summer months IMO, since this was a winter senario, I think you'd have to go with nuba. I chose collinite for this one, Zaino if the car would have been there for the whole winter. If I had to only chose one.

Collinite #476s gets my vote. Applied 3x layers back in October & it still produces tight tall beads after 3 months of sometimes nasty weather & salt, numerous visits to the wand wash (rinse only) and over 20+ bucket washes.

ColorX with #16, NXT with#16 or[THIN COATS] NXT paste with NXT liquid note DO NOT remove the paste put the liquid NXT on top of the paste let cure for 2 hours then remove. Very good depth and protection I would think. Preping the paint will make any process work to its full potential
