Good smelling glass cleaner?

No clue Setec. Sorry.

Maybe some perceive shilling when someone is one of a few using a particular product and then posts reviews highlighting the product on various detailing sites with threads titled "HD UNO vs.....". The "shilling" ears may perk up as Setec says when it is a new product from a non-established product brand especially one released with some hype.

Well, since this isn't really about shilling but about cliques and old grudges--but since I brought it up, Thomas perhaps you can clear up what that "HD" listing is on this page http://www.autopia.org/forum/showgroups.php that you appear in. I vaguely remember DavidB recruiting people to sell the HD line through some sort of proxy web store...I don't know what ever happened with that.

I was also one of the 3D testers. I was actually sent most of their product line(including UNO) & did a pretty nice review (IMHO) of their Interior line here http://www.autopia.org/forum/pro-de...ition-products.html?highlight=high+definition. I've given nothing but good praise of their products, but yet am not on that list? Make me wonder why I'm different? Maybe officially listing these people gives them immunity from public shilling?

I keep asking myself why the company went through all that bad press to post a challenge against all the other products yet only have it fall by the way side. Also, out of all the people that tested HD UNO, hardly any ever posted a review of it? That alone says something about it.

Oh, and as far as glass cleaners go, I also love the Meg's offerings.

PS: to your previous reply, the difference between someone that is excited about a product vs someone that sells a product is: PROFIT.

How hard is it to see the difference?

Exactly, PROFIT. That's what you're doing here! Nobody else posts: "Meguiars #105 vs the Red Firebird", you go out of your way to announce IN SUBJECT what you used. Why? Because it gets you SOMETHING. It may not be money, it may be discounted product or access to new products before they are released, or free reign to post what you want. There's SOME gain for you in this.

Oh no, I pay for everything I buy from CMA. I know Todd does too because when we detail together we account for product costs. I know for a fact that other resellers besides CMA and the one that currently sponsors this board gives a ton of free products to their "Pros" and requires them to shill a certain amount for more back end gear. Many of these people are affiliated with the said person that brought this issue up too. Yet it's ok for them to get a free shill pass here?

Like I said above, he's shilling products from the forum owner so yeah I guess he gets a free pass.

FWIW I pay for all of my products too, the exception to that is some "beta" Poorboys Liquid Natty's Blue I got from Autogeek for review but that's been in in a number of years. (Note the full disclosure)

How come you didn't say anything when way back I talked about FK1 1000, or EZ Creme Glaze?

There you have it, DF got free stuff from HD to test and you are calling me a schill because I am exited about a product?

At least I don't highlight myself in the thread title. I do >HD UNO< because in the past it would have taken me alot more effort to do what I can with HD UNO. It is an amazing product.

1 - 3 D had 40% off which I never received for ordering but I did get their 30% off sale price once I think. 2 - I get no new products before anyone else. 3 - I have always posted what I wanted. So you see, even if it is hard for you to understand, I have no hidden agenda.

What are you saying?

Todd works for cma. It is besides the point, but I am sure he pays less than you.

Yeah. You didn't get Yellow "beta" UNO pads for your loyalty or anything, right?

Please give up with the "I do it all out of love" bit.

What about FK 1000 and CG? Am I to suddenly be ok with your shilling because you don't like a few things from another manufacturer?

Todd pays less because he is employed by CMA. He gets an employee discount, not a "shillers discount".

Are you actually thinking before you write?

First, you don't know what he gets.

The whole point was that Todd goes on all the forums posting like you and I but infact he is recommending products in his writeups that he sells. He isn't disclosing that he works for a reseller. What a great company that allows such thing and what a great employee for doing it. AND WITH THAT YOU HAVE NO ISSUE.

The 3 pads came unannounced in an order. I hated the wool because it sheds. The other 2 pads were ok. No better than the orange pad I get from DI. Infact worse.

Can you get it in your head that I do what I do for me? Not for someone else? Do you think I need an additional 10% so I puch a product? Are you that shallow?

I do it for the love of UNO.

If I wanted to schill uno you'd see my details on AG, Meg's, and other manufacturer's sites. But you don't

So tell me your thoughts on cma and todd. Please?

The point is that I love both products. See who used them before I started using them. They are both excellent products and I "schilled" them because I felt others should know about them.

Just because you don't do things out of love doesn't mean others don't. Jesus!

Todd is recommending a product in this instance that you can buy at almost any detailing store online. Meguiars is carried by: DI, PAC, AG, ADS to name just a few. You are 'recommending' HD Uno virtually non stop, and it's offered at more or less one place. HDCarcare and their satellite 'branches'. There's a huge difference to me between recommending a product you can get nearly anywhere regardless of the fact he works for one of the reputable vendors you can get it at versus 'recommending' a product you can pretty much get at just one semi-reputable vendor.
