I think my problem with getting out marring and swirls is my technique. How many times do you guys work an area? Right now I'm doing about 2 passes and I'm not seeing much of a difference. Should I expand that to something like 5 passes?

Is 1ZPP easier to work with than Meg's Scratch-X (will require less applications)? If I stick to foam (or microfiber) will I have to go over it again with somelike less agressive, or probably not?
Accumulator said:Note that using the SRP after 1Z might lead to the SRP uncovering some hidden marring- it'll clean off the fillers/wax/etc. from the 1Z and what it leaves behind in their place might not hide as well. In a case like this, I'd apply the SRP very gently so it doesn't do much cleaning/etc. How you apply SRP can have a dramatic effect on whether it cleans/corrects or not and I've even been able to layer it, which a) surprised me and b) might be considered theoretically impossible by some people who haven't experimented with it.
When I removed the marring from the A8 (noting that it has hard clear and this wasn't severe marring) I did at least a half-dozen passes with the Ultra before switching to the PP. I did fewer passes with the PP, just enough to remove the (not so micro)-marring that the Ultra left behind. You don't take off much paint working by hand so don't worry about overdoing it (within reason) and don't be surprised when it takes a lot of time and effort. When I did the area behind the door handles on the S8 (bad fingernail scratches, I threatened drastic measures if the dealership ever did it again) I had to do countless passes, it really did take a long, long time and I don't mean just half an hour...that was for three individual scratches.
