Good bye old faithful, hello gorgeous

Civicclutch- Ah, sounds great all the way around! I know so little about G6`s that I couldn`t guess :D

Oh man are you lucky about that light gray interior being so clean, huh?!?

That I am. I am planning on putting carpro fabric coating on the seats.

Civicclutch- Ever use that Fabric Coating before? Could`ve used something like that in some cloth-upholstered dog-haulers!

So I got to work on the car a bit today. I`ve been dealing with major back pain last week and a half and possibly it`s a slipped disc at the doc office as I`m updating this. I went through the 4oz of fabric coating on just the back seats this morning and this afternoon I spent bout 4 1/2 hrs washing then claying the car. It was so oxidized that when I clayed it the lube ran white lol. So here is some pics, tires first

Civicclutch- Yikes, sorry to hear about your back!

On a happier note, I bet this detail is*VERY* satisfying. Heh heh, it`s just *SO* similar to my last to new-to-me vehicles, right down to the black run-off dripping down the sides...and I hear you on that white [crap] from the oxidation! The wheels look surprisingly OK...were they IRL or does it just look that way over the internet?

Just a comment about car handling in the snow:
I know it`s a BIG expense, but if you can, buy some winter-dedicated (snow-and-ice) tires for your Malibu, especially if your wife and little one will be using it on a daily basis in the winter. You and your wife will think it`s a All-Wheel Drive vehicle with those tires on it.
Yes ,Wisconsinites, for the most part, are pretty good winter drivers, given winter-driving conditions exists here about five months out of the year, so we do get a lot of "practice/experience" driving on ice and snow.

Cannot wait to see pictures of this vehicle turn-around. This Malibu is the kind of car a lot of people drive and to see an exterior/interior make-over on a daily driver is something I think detailers can all relate to (at least the "lower/middle/upper" middle working (or retired) class of the Midwest)

THAT.

We even run Winter Tires on the Tahoe, with 4WD and a LS rear. Needless to say, the Quattros get `em too.

Yeah, easy for us to spend other peoples` money, but they`re cheaper than [what that can happen without them].

Noting that I`m in that "retired class" and live in the Midwest...I prefer DD make-overs to most special car details any day of the week.

Mine didn`t like the snow of winter I hope the Malibu does better as it`s a heavier car with bit longer wheel base

I`m actually not sure if I ever washed the exterior. Mighta clayed and Zaino`d it the first week it was home but that would be about it. For a while ignition key wouldn`t work well in really cold weather due to design flaw.

Yep, that Ion was a strange car...but cheap to buy new. Always bemoaned the lack of interior trunk release...until I found it by mistake one day on the freeway. Not much for reading owners manuals back then...car was pretty basic. Lowest of the low; would got without radio and a/c if I coulda.

Malibu should be fun...always nice to have a new test subject.

So here is some 50/50 shots from yesterday
Hood got hd cut with b&s maroon followed by menzerna po91e on b&s yellow and rest of body got menzerna 400 on b&s maroon followed by menzerna 3800 on b&s yellow.

Civicclutch- That`s really looking good! Anybody who says "you can`t make white impressive" oughta take a look at those pix. With the paint that nice and the pillars and other black bits truly *black*, it`s gonna be one impressive daily driver.
