I'm detailing a z3 this week that has all sorts of problems. The good part is that I'll have the car from Tuesday til Sunday, as the guys going on vacation, and leaving it with me. This guy also represents an untapped market for me, so it's critical that I don't disappoint.
So, onto the car. It's a 02/03? Z3 6cyl. Black w/tan leather, about 50k on it.
The owner lives in the city, so it has it's share of little dings, but he's kept it relatively clean.
The car was backed into once, which required a repaint of the hood and drivers fender. No idea if it's single or clear on these areas, or for that matter, what the rest of the car is...
Now, to add onto the repainted areas, he was hit again, this time leaving a ding that's down to the metal, a little smaller than a dime. It's right on the hood, next to the emblem.
He wants me to fix this. IMO, that's gonna be one hell of a hard touch up to do. Any tips on that?? I can get pics of it tomorrow when I get the car...
Other than that, he wants a full out detail on the car. Here's my plan of attack:
Day 1: fix the ding. Let dry.
Day 2: wetsand the ding to perfection, begin washing and claying the car.
Day 3: Chemical guys laser buff w/ compounding pad x2 or 3, clean+ protect convertible top, remove wheels and clean wheel wells and back of wheels.
Day 4: Complete detail - one more laserbuff if needed (w/polishing pad), then to Natty's blue on the paint, AIO and Klasse SG on the wheels, carpet shampoo, full interior clean.
Thoughts on that?
