:yo:
Hey guys,
Well I have yet again had someone reverse into my wing, so after paint and curing time it is now once again time to re-correct the golf, only managed one side in about 6 hours
wool pads next time.
The wing was my main concern, however, when I went around the car I noticed a lot of marring and general scratches, some I inflicted and some were done through various companies having my car and cleaning it
Anyway, lets me use my detailing stuff !
So I got started
All polish used was worked via a metabo and finishing glaze via my porter cable.
The re-sprayed panels were very hard although quite easy to mar which was a bugger, hence the various finishing polishes and pads.
I found ssr1 to work the best in this area because it didn't dust as much and therefore left less chance of marring. I must say swissvax stuff is excellent I will use this once the whole car is done.
Ok here as the befores.
Most important part for me with a black car is making sure it is nearly clean before I even lay a mitt on the paint work
This stuff works for sure!
General condition of paintwork
Why it's always a good idea to clay your windows!!!!
Lesson learnt, don't drag feet coming out of car
Somebody hit my car with there door
Home-made sun gun - normal cheap bulb
Afters
Can you say perfection ?
Still some refining to do but it took me about four different pads and 3 polishes to get this far !!
Still had some remains of ssr1 but was so happy to finally to have finished this panel, it took ages.
So things still to do are, boot and bumper correction, roof and the passenger side of the vehicle as well as alloys, exhaust and possibly look at alloy re-furb.
