going overboard polishing before AIO?

Personally I would use the #80 speed glaze in place of the DC1 & DC2. I find that it removes swirls much better than DC1 and deepens color about the same as the DC2, but is much easier to use and you only have one application, not two. Then apply AIO, UPP.

wouldn't the AIO pretty much remove any of the benefits of using DC step 2 (which according to Mike Phillips is really close to Show Car Glaze but easier to remove)...
I mean the benefits of glazing impart oils into the paint right? Wouldn't the AIO just clean em out (since it is pretty much a chemical cleaner?)

I have tried this with many products, or glazes I should say.
Here is my .02; the part of the glaze that penetrates into the microscopic pores of the paint IMO is what adds color and depth AIO applied by hand will remove a TINY of bit of this. AIO by PC, forget about it, it's gone.
I think when using AIO after #7 even by hand it will remove a lot of the "wet look." I would attribute this to the fact that #7 actually skins as opposed to drying.
I have no proof, only what I have seen through experimentation.
FWIW, I think UPP works best over AIO or UPC. However, if I was going to use a swirl remover/glaze type of product under it, I would #80 speed glaze because it leaves a small amount of polymer protection behind.

After removing the swirls, wouldn't it be best to lay down AIO, then apply #80 followed by UPP? Figuring the AIO is already "lock-in". I do not believe that#80 would remove enough to create a simple waste of time. Any toughts?

From how I have seen Clean Dean use it - #80 is better for removing swirls then follow that with AIO if you like
