GM Onyx Black... ARGH!

I can have pics by tonight if that will help, but anyways I'm trying to attack some bird bomb etchings, water spots, minor swirls, and a few scratches and it seems nothing in my arsenal is making progress. Here is what I have tried thus far:

Clay Magic

Meg's #9- Meg's yellow polish pad, then tried Sonus SFX-1 yellow restore pad

Mothers Power Polish- SFX-1 yellow restore pad with moderate to heavy pressure

Both with a PC on 5/6 going about 1" a second, multiple passes. I tried very little product and went up from there but this paint seems rock hard!

Short of wet sanding (rather not) what would you recommend? I'd consider a wool pad if that might make more progress, as well as another heavier polish if necessary. Thanks!

It's just not going to be easy by PC. It's tough to work with it using a rotary! Are there any rotary using Autopians near you?

neither product you used is very aggressive, do you have anything else available to you? Maybe some OC and OP, or the SSR line?

SFX-1 was referring to the pad agressiveness, not the product. Sorry I wasn't more specific.

I could help you with some product samples to try. I'm local to you I believe.

I've made decent progress on GM black clear using Menzerna products by PC. Might not help much, but that's my two cents.

Optimum Polish/Compound mixed 50/50 using a Meguiars polishing pad has given me excellent results on GM paints. Finishes down LSP ready too.

I have gone up to a yellow LC cutting pad and Optimum Hyper Compound on some pretty bad swirls on a Camaro and even that finished off well the paint is so hard!

I'm hoping to try that mix on my fiance's cavalier in the next week or two. Maybe follow that up with some pink moose. Not sure.
