At the risk of sounding like an aristocratic jack *ss, I can't imagine allowing dawn or any other type of dishwashing detergent near the finish of my beloved vehicles. I understand the purpose for using dawn is to remove wax residue prior to applying a polymer sealant. What I would like to know is can I expect the same result by using EF Power Wash instead?

Please advise:

dawn wash is not going to hurt anything when used in moderation....... frankly you are nullifying the 'drying effect' dishwash-detergent has on your paint almost instantly when you clean, polish, seal, and wax it again. no harm done. Dawn is the most effective way to do the intended job.

Dawn should be used no more than twice a year.

If you are worried about it there are other products out there to remove wax....Search for ABC on the forum.

However the Acid part, 'A' is oxalic acid which is much much harsher than dawn. I wouldn't be surprised if the alkaline 'B' (dawn is an alkaline, basic substance) is also harsher than dawn.

Oxalic acid is not good for plastic and rubber parts. I would hesitate before using that stuff on my car . . .

Not sure how many of you have heard of the name, Glenn Pray, but he was an asset to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg community. He provided original parts to many owners while making high quality replica ACD cars.

A few of you may have even detailed some of those cars.

He passed to the next life a few days ago.

Hemmings Daily did a nice article on him. I was contacted thru the ACD Club wondering if I had a photo of Glenn, which if you know me I always have my camera near.

My condolences to the family and his friends
