OK guys, help me out here!
I am trying to get my product lines in order and make sure I am covered for any paint situation. I can't figure this one thing out.
What is the difference in Polish and Glaze??? HELP!
We need to sit down and write a common language for car care products.

The big problem I have with the gaze/polish issue is the confusing info from the manufacturers.

To me, a polish should polish and not add anything to the paint. When the polish is removed, only the paint remains.

A glaze, on the other hand would add some type of shine and possibly even some fillers on the painted surface.

A quick check of Meguiar's description of their glazes and polishes will show that my definition is not the same as their's.

Hey, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. It isn't hard to see why so many people just give up and either have their cars washed and waxed at the car wash or just use some cleaner/wax from Wal*Mart. Unless you really want to do it, the options are more than most people are interested in.:)

Charles my thoughts regarding polish vs glaze are the same as yours. However,as you pointed out,the bulk of the manufactors disagree, even among themselves. The "average consumer" is often mislead.
